				   | I am so sorry to hear that the groomer can't follow directions, we have run into a few bad groomers as well. I hope her hair grows back fast.

				   | I am a human hairdresser and from experience you usually find newly qualified people cut more than you want them to, they are what i would call 'scissor happy' wheras when someone has been doing it for long time they realise less is more Do try it yourself it is really quite easy

				   | I understand exactly how you feel. There are a lot of us here that have walked in your shoes. The best advice I can give is find someone you can trust and like. Each and every time you take your Yorkie in, tell her SPECIFICALLY WHAT YOU DO WANT DONE AND ALSO WHAT YOU DON'T WANT DONE OR CUT! Good luck. I did tell my groomer last week that I was in shock when I picked up Missy the week before. I think I'll see if SHE can start asking specific questions whenever we bring our dogs in.

Yeah, I think I'm typically pretty forgiving myself. That's probably why I haven't done as someone else suggested and searched for a specific groomer, I just took her to the same place (even though she got different people), because she was getting puppy cuts and even when it was different from time to time, she was still cute. Actually, this cuts really cute too. Maybe next time I'll stick a post-it to her head that says "don't trim my bangs". ha ha

Anyway, I agree it would be good to somehow make sure they don't cut her bangs. Maybe next time when you drop her off you could ask who will be working on her today and speak to that person directly. I think most errors in grooming salons are probably info not being passed on from the person that takes in the dog to the groomer. Maybe if you wait until her bangs are long enough to put up you could attach a ribbon with a note!

				   | I was having a hard time with groomers also. My mom took her Shih-tzu to the same person I had been using and they discussed that we weren't cutting her hair (floor length). Picked her up and she was all but shaved. Anyway, to be a groomer you only have to pay about $1500 for the six week course and after the course is over you're a groomer. It's better to look for someone who is certified and then talk to them for a very long time before you take your dog to them. Make sure they are only going to do what you want. The groomer I use now has called me almost every time we take our dogs to her (we have three that go), sometimes for little things like bow color. |
