| Welcome to YT, and thank you for rescuing.Daisy is a little cutie. How long do you have her. Does she shake ONLY in the morning but ok during the day, does she eat well, drinks enough water. The more information you provide on Daisy the more help you may be able to get.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hi and welcome . To me, it sounds like she could be having low blood sugar or too empty of a tummy in the morning. If I were you, I'd give her a little food just before going to bed to see if that helps. Also, right when she wakes in the morning you could try giving some quick, simple carbs (a little bread, a cracker, a carby dog treat...) or some Nutrical. Does she vomit bile in the morning...? If she really hates dry kibble, then I would not feed it. You want her to *like* her food, most especially if she has potential low blood sugar. There is nothing wrong w/ feeding wet/moist food - it's fresher / less processed anyway. Don't believe the myth that "kibble is good for teeth"....it's no different than it is for our human teeth -- crunchy food does not and will not clean our teeth one bit. Shaking is always secondary to something else...being cold, being in pain, tummy upset/GI upset...

| When you say you feed her chicken liver and bacon is that people food bacon, which I hope it is not. Bacon is high in fat, grease, salt, preservatives, the high fat and grease will cause your dog Pancreatitis. If you home cook for your baby you must add supplements to make sure your baby is getting the daily nutrients they require. I do not home cook for my boy, thankfully he is not a picky eater, I buy him a good quality kibble. I do hope other members chime in about home cooking and what is needed. So when she doesn't eat her full meal she shakes in the morning? And your vet is ok with this? If your vet finds she is medically healthy we have to trust our vets. When she doesn't eat her full meal at night before she goes to bed give her some food that you know she likes and will eat. She may be very hungry in the morning causing her to shake, this is just a GUESS on my part. What is NOT a GUESS is feeding her bacon.

Also feeding chicken liver & bacon is NOT a balanced diet for her & it will not be long before she starts to show signs of her lack of proper nutrition so PLEASE get to the pet store & buy this girl a proper dog food before you cause her damage that cannot be reversed. AND if your vet knows about this diet & is ok with it then I suggest you to find a new vet ASAP. I was a vet tech for many yrs & I can tell you that this diet is NOT ok for your girl. | |

| My little boy Cooper did that when he was little. He is 16 months old now and will occasionally still do the shaky thing during the day. I too think it's from his diet. He is very picky. I found one kibble he will eat and suppliment that with whatever he will eat of people food. Bits of cheese, any fruit he will try. But mostly he likes meats. So I will open tuna and give him maybe a tablespoon. Canned chicken, lean hamburger and so forth. If he is real shaky I figure it is low blood sugar and will find some carbs to bring the blood sugar up. Please try the lean meats instead of high fat meats. Be patient and try different things. Cooper maybe has one day a month that he goes through this now. Hope she starts feeling better. |

| She's so sweet!! My sister in law has a 3lb Pomeranian and he does the same thing some mornings. I've noticed when I watch him sometimes when they go away that if he doesn't have a little snack before bed then he wakes up shakey. It must be related to low blood sugar. Even though he's so tiny, he eats a good amount and so I think sometimes the tiny ones need small, frequent meal. Maybe the food you are giving her may not be balanced enough to keep her full. Maybe you can try mixing some of the liver into the dry food? I find if I moisten it for the little Pomeranian with just a little chicken stock and mix in some finely chopped chicken breast he eats it right up. You can also try the fresh pet moist foods. I sometimes mix those in with the dry food and they love it too. best of luck!! It takes time to find the right combination and which foods they like and don't. |

| Feeding these little guys is a challenge and a science. My Daughter has a tiny little girl too. She's 8 years old and about 3.5 lbs. On occasion she does that shaking thing. She's very sensitive to cold so she has a wardrobe and we went to feeding her two times a day. A very picky eater. Ughhh. Jenn varies the wet foods and uses a kibble. She gives her about 1/3 of a container (1.3 oz out of a 3.5 oz container) The product she uses is Lil' plates by Merrick. Jenn finds that Maddie will eat if she varies what she feeds her. Oh and she feeds her two times a day with dry available if she wants it during the day. Occasionally she does. Like at 11 at night. If I ate like that I'd weigh a million pounds! When she visits me I like to include some boiled chicken in her meal And you know - she expects it here. Won't eat unless I put a little chicken in there. Smart little girl - so spoiled. My boy Deuce has a very sensitive tummy. He weighs 5.5 lbs. He's on a prescription diet wet food and Royal Canin Gastroinestinal dry. If I gave him bacon I'd be on poop patrol in the house so no table food works for him. But I do feed him two times a day. And I keep his diet consistant. Nutrition is important for a tiny animal.

It's okay to cook for her if she refuses kibble. Have you tried chicken breast, without skin? The only issue is, even if you feed chicken breast + peas, it's not a balance diet. Have you tried "Freeze-dried" patty/nugget meals? A few good brands include: Complete Freeze-Dried Raw Diets for Pets: Smack Pet Food - 5-STAR RATED - Whole Raw Foods | Kibble Convenience https://www.stellaandchewys.com/ Being so small, I don't suggest that she go to bed hungry either. On an empty stomach they can vomit bile or worse, they can have low blood sugar which can be very dangerous. Again, I agree with lillymae that bacon + chicken liver + peas is not a balance diet. Dogs need proper nutrition to be healthy. Freeze-dried meals are different from kibble and seem to taste a lot better to dogs. Give Primal a try - many pet stores in my area give out free samples of this brand. As for the shaking, does her tail curl under her body? Does she arch her back? If so, the shaking could be due to pain - possibly relating to digestion.
