YT 2000 Club Donating Member | ![]() Does Bella ever settle with your visitors after a couple of hours? My practice is to let any dog come to me - and then I am very still until they have done some sniffing me out :-) For some reasons most dogs love my feet! lol I get lots of toe licks when I am in my sandals.

YT 1000 Club Member | ![]() I can understand people being protective over a puppy, but the Yorkie I wanted to see was probably pushing 1 year old. They should have had her vaccinated by that age, if they are good doggie parents. I got the impression that it was his wife/girlfriend's dog and that he could care less. Maybe if she had been the one taking it out then it would have been different. I love to share my babies. I do watch how other people treat the dogs and if they are not being nice I remove the dog from the situation. I am not afraid to take my dogs away from people who are not being nice to them. I just feel like maybe some people don't love Yorkies as a general like the people on here do. They may like their dog, but are not crazy for Yorkies like I am. LOL

My husband has had to remind me several times to snap out of it and get rid of my " stuck up b-face". I'm really rather friendly though...in a sarcastic, odd sense of humor way ![]() | |

| ![]() I'll typically talk about dogs to anyone, but there are some situations where I won't. The main reason is if the person is being over bearing towards Lola, grabbing her face, trying to kiss her, not stopping when she's trying to get away, etc. It's amazing how clueless people are. I also won't stop if I feel unsafe, a man yelled across the parking lot and tried to approach me as I got out of my car. I got back in, moved my car, waited for him to go away, and moved again. I look like I'm about 16, so situations like that are very creepy. The other reasons are if I'm tired, in a rush, you sneezed/coughed into your hand, or Lola is tired of being fussed over. |

| ![]() We were on vacation in Mackinaw City, MI last week. Oliver did very, very well (except for once bolting out the door, down the big steps, and across the parking lot, with me right behind). I didn't stop to talk to people about him because, for one thing, they weren't Yorkie people. And also, I was on the first vacation we had been on in 11 years. It was my 20th anniversary. And they were treating him like he was one of the attractions. He's not. He's part of my family. So I pretty much avoided talking to people about him. I don't usually let kids pet him because he's not used to kids and can nip when he's unsure. Some adults did pet him. Some he allowed, others he didn't feel comfortable and growled at them. Most of the time I kept him in his stroller where little hands couldn't just reach out for him. I'm not unfriendly and I do like it when people make over him, just not on vacation. LOL
