We were on vacation in Mackinaw City, MI last week. Oliver did very, very well (except for once bolting out the door, down the big steps, and across the parking lot, with me right behind). I didn't stop to talk to people about him because, for one thing, they weren't Yorkie people. And also, I was on the first vacation we had been on in 11 years. It was my 20th anniversary. And they were treating him like he was one of the attractions. He's not. He's part of my family. So I pretty much avoided talking to people about him. I don't usually let kids pet him because he's not used to kids and can nip when he's unsure. Some adults did pet him. Some he allowed, others he didn't feel comfortable and growled at them. Most of the time I kept him in his stroller where little hands couldn't just reach out for him. I'm not unfriendly and I do like it when people make over him, just not on vacation. LOL
