I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Gosh, what is it about cat food, my dogs have always gone nuts over it, they love it more than the cats do! It may be causing the problem. Some people here suggest putting their food up high where a dog can't as easily reach.

| Cat food is usually high in fat and could be the cause of loose stool.

From my experience, even if it's not liquid diarrhea, it's still an upset stomach. Excessive stool is mild upset stomach. In my opinion, I think the stomach is not liking what he's eating so it's excreting it ASAP instead of absorbing it all. Good food yields small and less poop. Bad food (if stomach doesn't like it), yields lots of poop. | |

| OH and also, I was told by my trainer, who is supposedly very knowledgeable and was friends with the late Dr Sophia Yin, to not feed white rice. I forgot the reason..even though I know the internet suggests rice and boiled chicken everywhere. But she was appalled by the idea of white rice and suggested plain oatmeal instead. I just took her word for it and used plain oatmeal (mixed with warm water and cooled down before serving), boiled chicken, plain yogurt, and plain canned pumpkin. |

YT 1000 Club Member | I have always fed oatmeal to a dog that has had a stomach issue. I make a great big pot of it and then scoop out some for the dogs, they think it is a great treat! Then I fix up the rest of the pot of oatmeal for my family with brown sugar or cinnamon or maple syrup or whatever i want in ours. I let the dogs cool to a reasonable temperature where they will not be burned, usually about the time we are finished eating. They love it! I usually feed them this for a day and then try them back on their dog food and see how they do. This plain oatmeal was highly recommended by my vet, several actually for a dog I had that had constant stomach issues.

Brewers' rice is the small milled fragments of rice kernels that have been separated from the larger kernels of milled rice. (AAFCO definition).[1] Brewers' rice is a processed rice product that is missing many of the nutrients contained in whole ground rice and brown rice thus reducing the quality[2] Quote:
Brewers rice offers mainly calories which are indeed important, but I don't believe "empty" calories are beneficial.

When you say "bad food", do you mean bc it's a simple carb? Or?

| You can research yourself. But Asians who have a high staple of white rice from Asia usually don't sufferer from Diabetes. But its the combinations of the unhealthy "American" diet with alot of white rice. American have the worst eating habits. When I was growing up there would only be one over weight kid in class. And you notice them Now a healthy skinny kid stands out. All the kids are over weight. |
