No matter what this breed was originally intended for or how loving some examples of the breed are, these dogs have fallen into the wrong hands and a very large portion of them is now dangerous. I think that the problem has a lot to do with the owners, but these bad owners have turned the breed into a dangerous breed. Believe me, I feel sorry for the animals that have to be put down or get a bad rap because of aggression because I know it's not their fault, but you can't escape the fact that they are aggressive. Like you said, it's because of poor bloodlines and breeding. One aggressive bloodline can have hundreds of off-spring in a year if they're put into the wrong hands. The same people that made their dogs aggressive and bred these aggressive lines couldn't care less what happens to the puppies of their dogs- for them, money talks. Do you think they're selling them with limited registration or even to the most responsible people? As an animal lover, I hate to hear the stories about pit bulls sitting in shelters and eventually being euthenized because most people won't adopt them. However, if there are as many stories out there as there are and statistics showing that this breed, along with another, is responsible for a large majority of the deaths through bites, I know I am not willing to take the chance and risk lives. Will something happen? No, not necessarily, but I'm not the risk-taking type to give it a go and see what happens. Call me crazy or ignorant or whatever, but I like the motto "better safe than sorry." | |

| ![]() Exactly I was just making the statement all animals are capable of killing not just pits and rotts. I my self have been bit by 3 different animals(i'm a sucker) The first one was a stray cat who i was trying to help when i was 10 it bit my eye. Then a basset hound attacked me while i was trying to pick up garbage that it had been eating, and the most recent was another stray cat. In my life i would never guess a basset hound to be aggressive. It was a friends dog i was watching he tipped over the garbage can so i went to picked it up and wam he grabbed my arm and would not let go. I heard no growling or no warning from him it was all of a sudden. All animals have killing capabilities they were once all predators and had to hunt for their food until man made them domestic.

| ![]() This is another one: (This is Wichita, Kansas) Jan. 7-Wichita Police are forced to shoot a pitbull after it attacks a child. It happened in the 1100 block of South Greenwood Saturday afternoon. 11 year old Jacob Smith was attacked by the dog. "I was so scared I was going to get shot or that the dog was going to kill me." After the dog bit him several times on the back, a friend called police and tried to distract the dog from attacking again. Smith says, "I started running and my friend came out and started to come this way and the dog and then cop says, " oh crap, I better go help that guy." The dog lunged at the police officer and that's when he shot it. This is second pitbull attack this week in which officers have had to use deadly force. http://www.kake.com/news/headlines/2165827.html

| ![]() well i am upset enough about all this but understand every one has their own thoughts but they way we loveour yorkies people love their pits here is a group i am familiar with that take great pride in their dogs and the breed itself. Ind\fact one puppy Zion started to show signs of aggression and he was immediately put down never harmed anyone but wasnt going to give him the chance. http://www.aapba.com/

No animal nor creature on this earth has the ability to LOCK their Jaws, ANY Jaw structure is not capable of this, and it is a KNOWN FACT! and has been proven by many MANY tests!
