Another Yorkie killed by pit bull Here's the link http://www.wnep.com/Global/story.asp?S=4339532 |
This is a shame!!! |
Oh man i am so sorry for their loss but please people remember not all pit bulls are like this you don't have to fear every one you see. I was raised with them and they never even would glare at any other animal. It is all in their breeding, training, and home life. It is obvious there is something wrng with these dogs and something should be done, but THEY ARE NOT ALL BAD! |
OMG!!! thats terrible its not only that the dogs need to be put down. but the owner of the pitts needs to get fined  the laws really suck sometimes :thumbdown. if it was me i would make him go to jail. and maybe he will never own pitt bulls again. my exbofriend has a pitt but shes nothing like that, shes the sweetest thing. he never taught her to be aggressive. |
IMHO something just isn't wired right in the head with pittbulls. Last month my neighbor was petsitting a pit bull mix. The neighbor's kid opened the gate, I was on the other side of the yard with my yorkie. The pit jumped on my pug and bit his face. I screamed my head off and I couldn't get that dog off of my Bailey. I screamed for John and I'll admit I even tried to kick it even though I think I missed. She let go when she saw my husband. My husband said to bring him to the vet because he had two cuts.Thank god I was holding Brandy, if that dog had gotten hold of her it would have been worse. I believe that there is a certain responsiblity you have when you own a type of animal like that. One capable of killing. Brandy and Bailey can both nip, but they're not capable of killing. This pitbull was very nice to people and when she was smaller she used to play with Bailey. I even had her in my house before. Now that she got bigger she just became agressive towards him. But she's okay with the neighbor's lab-mix. She is even owned by 2 small kids and is great with them and is a friendly dog. I honestly believe that something isn't wired right in their head and anything could set them off. I never had anything against pittbulls but now I do, I would never own one. That pittbull wasn't provoked, my pug is as friendly as pugs get. The dog wasn't raised to fight either so I think any pittbull is capable of turning. Again, these are just my opinions and my experience. |

boyfriends pitt is like 10 years old shes really different. but me personally i will never own a pit either. they are really agressive. he just got lucky. |
 What a sad story! :( |
Every time I hear about a pit bull attacking another dog or a person, the owner usually says that "This dog has never done anything like this before." You never hear the owner say "Oh yes, this happens all the time--the dog is always attacking something. You should have know better." That's why I NEVER take a chance around pit bulls. Your Yorkie could be the first one. |
That is horrible. I can only imagine the pain they are going through. How awful. :( |
Pitbull kills 4 year old Last week a 4 year old little boy was killed by a pitbull in a town about 20 miles from where I live. The dog belong to an Uncle of the little boy, I believe. He as supposed to have been a family pet and the boy had been around them numerous times. They showed a picture of the beautiful little child on TV. It just made me sick to think about it. I agree with the other poster, I think pit bulls just have something in them that can snap. Too many times I have heard of people being killed by them and the owner always says what a good dog they were. I personally would not own one. A lady in the neighborhood where 2 of my grandchildren live (4 and 7 yrs old) has a pit bull on a chain not in a fenced in yard. I worry about my grandchildren and all of the other children who get on the school bus right by there. Even if one of our little Yorkies went berserk and attacked someone they wouldn't kill them. Yea! for Yorkies |
I dont trust pitbulls. I dont care how nice someone says they are. I wouldnt let one around My yorkies or My Daughter. All it takes is one time for something to happen and there have been too many attacks. We have several pitbulls in our neighborhood but the owners are pretty good about keeping them contained. |
We went to a BBQ last week and the owner had a pit. She was very friendly with the adults but I didn't like how she perked up her ears and stared at my son. My son stayed inside. This same pit...hand raised and loving...broke through the wooden privacy fence to go "visit" the dog that lives behind them. Did not hurt their dog but broke through a freakin wooden fence...that in itself scares the bejesus out of me! |
 That's horrible! I'm sure some of you remember recently my granddaughter's 14 yr. old cat, Spooky, was killed by a pit! The old cat [well over 15 lbs.] never wandered from their yard .... just laid in the sun waiting for Kayla and then spent the rest of the time in Kayla's room [Spooky's choice!] The dog just grabbed her by her chest and crushed it! The vet said he believed her death was instant. The pit will eventually die ... my biggest concern until that happens is that my tiny, 2 yr. old granddaughter plays right where poor Spooky died and there are several other small children in the neighborhood!! I personally think that these dogs should be banned!!! |

That's awful! I missed that post. That dog obviously has agression problems and should not be allowed to roam freely in the neighborhood. I'm so sorry for your poor granddaughter. I've only known one pit, and she was beautiful and loving. As a whole, though, I don't trust the breed and would never own one. I figure, with all of the stories I've heard of them attacking people and animals, I'm not willing to take a chance with this breed. If someone wants to own one, then fine, but I just hope that they don't live anywhere near me. |
How terrifying for that poor yorkie ! I hate seeing these stories and I know we only hear about a fraction of the deaths to small breeds from dog attacks.... I love all animals but would NEVER let a pitt bull around my girls - no matter what. sorry - but their rep is just TOO bad and why take the chance....Even if it were a friend or family members Pitt....NO WAY. |
