If people actually sat down and read about the WHOLE history of this bread they and everyone else on this planet would understand. Im not saying all pit bulls are good either. there are bad ones out their just like ANY OTHER BREED!!!Because of Poor breeding, Bloodlines, Training, and their home lives!!!!As per other breeds!!people need to realize that, they get so caught up in what the media thinks of the matter and brain washing people into thinking certain things and forget that they can have their OWN opinion. Again this is JMO and im not critizing anyone. I work with dogs all day..and get to see all the different breeds out their, i get a better look out on things than most people. Because the truth of the matter is, some people Don't want to voice their opinion because their afraid of what might be said. Im sorry but this topic upsets me. No one cares to know the facts about these so called "dangerous, and horrible" dogs. Every single breed out their has those bad ones Just like Children!~ its all in how their raised!
thank you for letting me vent and voice my opinion. I mean dis-respect to anyone. Just please sit down and get all the facts straight.
thank you again~ | I do have my own opinion- I don't like aggressive dogs. I'm not saying I don't like pit bulls because I'm afraid of what others will say about me- beleive me, I welcome a debate on any topic about which I feel pationately. Being a PR major in college, I took quite a few mass comm books and know the effect the media has, but the media buzz dies down if it is just that. When there is reported case after reported case, the stories will continue to be printed.
No matter what this breed was originally intended for or how loving some examples of the breed are, these dogs have fallen into the wrong hands and a very large portion of them is now dangerous. I think that the problem has a lot to do with the owners, but these bad owners have turned the breed into a dangerous breed. Believe me, I feel sorry for the animals that have to be put down or get a bad rap because of aggression because I know it's not their fault, but you can't escape the fact that they are aggressive. Like you said, it's because of poor bloodlines and breeding. One aggressive bloodline can have hundreds of off-spring in a year if they're put into the wrong hands. The same people that made their dogs aggressive and bred these aggressive lines couldn't care less what happens to the puppies of their dogs- for them, money talks. Do you think they're selling them with limited registration or even to the most responsible people? As an animal lover, I hate to hear the stories about pit bulls sitting in shelters and eventually being euthenized because most people won't adopt them. However, if there are as many stories out there as there are and statistics showing that this breed, along with another, is responsible for a large majority of the deaths through bites, I know I am not willing to take the chance and risk lives. Will something happen? No, not necessarily, but I'm not the risk-taking type to give it a go and see what happens. Call me crazy or ignorant or whatever, but I like the motto "better safe than sorry." |
