| ![]() OMG That is sooo sad! I know that there are some good pitbulls out there, but I personally don't trust them and would never own one or let Miko near one no matter who the pit belongs to.

YT Addict | ![]() With the reputation pittbull's have I myself can see no reason whatsoever for owning one. If it were up to me the breed would be ban'd to the point of extinction. My 2 cents worth. And as to the owners saying he/she never showed aggression before,They still have to be aware of their rep.

| ![]() I personnally do not trust pit bulls. One of my neighbor's in my apartment complex (keep in mind that pit bulls are not allowed in the complex) had one and about a 1 month ago it came thru my living room window trying to get to Rocky. My window was down and locked with the shades pulled. The dog must of heard Rocky bark. My BF just happend to just got home from the gun range and had his gun out to start cleaning. Well my BF shot the dog because he was protecting me and his 4 year daughter that was near the window. He did not kill the dog, but did wound it enough to make it stop in its tracks. The owner said that he had the dog for years and this was the first time he had done something like that. The courts declared the dog dangerous and ordered it to be put down after it turned on the vet and a police officer. I don't care how many people tell me that their pit bull are the sweatest thing that has walked this earth, I believe that there is something not right in their heads. I have heard of to many stories of these dogs attacking and killing animals and humans. I will never own one or be in someones home that does. I love and are not scared of dogs but I not very confortable around pit bulls. Last edited by Rockster's Mom; 01-10-2006 at 06:55 AM. |

| ![]() It scared the heck out of me. The only time I had seen a dog act like that was when I lived in the country when I was a kid, and my lab came between me and a coyote. My lab was just protecting me though, not trying to attack me. |

| ![]() The sad thing is other dogs/people get killed all other breeds all the time and it never makes the news because they are not "bad" dogs pit, rots ect.

| ![]() I am the Transportation Director for a pubic school. I am supervisor and over all the school buses and employees who work for the transportation deparment. One of my good friends was Transportation Director for another city. One day 2 little boys were waiting for their school bus when they noticed two big Rottweillers coming toward them. These dogs had been out of their pen before and caused some problems and the owners had been cited. The boys were afraid of the dogs and climbed a tree to get away from them. When the boys saw the bus coming, the oldest one climbed down from the tree and thought he could make it to the bus and get help from the driver. Before the driver could get her bus stopped and be of any assistance to the boys, the rottweilers attacked him and killed him right in front of the bus driver and the other students. Why would anyone keep dogs or even want dogs who were known to be aggressive and mean. How would you live with yourself knowing you were in any way responsible for a child's death. I'll take my sweet, loving little Yorkie and Westie any day. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() We actually had 2 pitts roaming my neighborhood - and of course the only reason they were talked about is because they MAULED a little boy a street away from me - what was even sadder was the owners KNEW these dogs got out and said they hadn't fixed the fence.... SO...a little boy had to pay with his face for a LAZY owners negligence..... Again - Pitts will attack ...even unprovoked - I'm sure most people know enough to stay clear of them - but still attacks happen.... ![]() |

| ![]() I don't trust any big dog around my Gus for good reason. We almost lost him due to a big dog attack. A German Shepherd. And in most cases it is the owners fault. This dog killed 2 and injured 1 before they came and took the dog away. One of the killings were not reported because there was no real proof she did it. But my nieghbor found their chi dead lying in thier own back yeard with a hole dug under the fence leading to the same dog who got ahold of Gus. Everyone knew that Dobie did it but there was no real proof. They tried talking to the owner about it but they just would not believe thier dog would kill. They brought up Gus's accident and the owner tried to say "well I still think Dobie was just playing with him and since he is so tiny she ended up hurting him" That was clearly not the case. She seen Gus out going potty and ran from across the street with my son and daughter right there and pick him up shook him side to side like she wanted to do harm. My poor kids didn't even see her coming till it was too late. The same thing with the puppy that she killed the next street over. There was kids outside playing with their new puppy when Dobie got ahold of it killing it right in front of them. These people knew their dog kept getting out. And could not believe that their sweet family pet could do such things. They learned the hard way and now they have to deal with a very sad little boy who loved that darn dog. Very sad story all around.
