YT Addict | I am at my wits end!!!!! I am at my wits end!!!!! I am at the point I never thought I would get at with Lilly Anne. I am having to decide whether or not to keep her. She is an absolute nightmare to have in your house, she pees on everything and everywhere, she poops on everything and everywhere, and she tears everything up and rips everything she can get her hands on. I have taken her to the vet multiple times to check and makes sure that her pooping and peeing anywhere from 5-10 times a day is normal and she is completely healthy. I have spent so much money on all types of training and it has done no good. I literally have no idea what else to do. She currently has to stay in a small room by herself with nothing i it but some water till I get home in the afternoons because anything and everything you leave in there will be destroyed. I have spent so much time trying to potty train her and it has done no good either. it is seriously awful. Me and my husband just got married, and we are now preparing to move into our brand new house and I cannot handle having everything we have spent hard earned money on destroyed because of her, and my husband said the first time she ruins things in this new house she will be gone. I never had any of these issues with Ellie and I am at a serious loss of what to do. Any help or suggestions or anything would be very much appreciated!!

| I wish I had suggestions beyond what you've probably already read on YT and tried. Potty training has been slow-going for my two, as well. I don't get as frustrated, though, because the carpets were due to be replaced anyway, so I'll just wait it out...And I'm home a lot so I can tend to the pups frequently. I hope you get some good suggestions. (And that, if she needs to be re-homed, you'll be very selective. Heck, I'm in VA and would still take her if you were in a real bind, but I'm sure something will work out.) Hoping for your sake and hers that things improve quickly.

YT 1000 Club Member | Awww I'm sorry to hear this! I know how you're feeling my hubby and I have been having talks on whether to rehome our bulldog. She's ruined furniture, outside gates(when trying to get to us on the playground behind out house), "play" nips at our son, barks incessantly, whines, hubby convienantly forgets to bathe her weekly, feed her, pick up her poop, etc. She's a family dog but his one "responsibility" when he's home. It's just a bunch of stress at this point especially since I'm taking care of everything by myself. Would you consider professional training if u haven't done so already? Btw congrats on your nuptials!!!!! Last edited by ColesMommy01; 03-24-2014 at 06:34 PM. |

YT 1000 Club Member | I think alot of people on here have been at a breaking point with their pet at one time or another. Sometimes when our bulldog does something all I can think of is sending her to my parents. Then a couple of days later I wonder how I could of had such thoughts. You will have to come to a decision sooner or later especially with having to move in your new home soon. Is it better for you, your husband, Lilly Anne , and Ellie for y'all to keep Lilly? Is it less stressful for everyone? The last thing you want to do as a newlywed is argue . If not find a good home for her. Not every dog is appropriate for every home. |

| How old is she? When Joel was younger I would keep him in a playpen so he couldn't ruin stuff and only had him out if I was right there watching him. |

YT Addict | She is about a year and a half. She does stay in a playpen with nothing in it and is only out whenever i can be right up under her, but even still then she manages to poop or pee or tear something up. Like i said she uses the bathroom close to ten times a day if not more.

| Have you tried kennel training her? I would get her a larger kennel, with her bed and water on one end with a potty pad on the other end. It sounds like she really needs to be limited and you have to keep an eye on her. Start there, and let her out frequently. I'm guessing you will see immediate improvement.

| Do you both work during the day? Is she feeling left out of things because you both work? Do you take her for good walks outside before work, after work and right before bedtime? Maybe if you can get her on scheduled wals r potty it ill help a lot. It's totally normal for them to potty that much, as the have very small bladders and intestines. I know Gizmo goes a lot, but if he gets his normal walks every day and is on his routine, most of the time he won't even use his potty pads, and I'll hold it for his walks. Best thing is to be consistent th walks and make sure she's getting enough excersize. Gizmo is only nine months old, but depends on his schedule, and if its off, he tends to get into more trouble. I think consistency is the main thing to focus on. |

| I remembered this from the training forum. How to Housetrain You Dog in 7 Days. LTAH.NET I just checked the link and you need to look on the right side of the website under potty training to see the PDF file. You just really need to follow thru with your end and she will be trained. It's when you become complacent they fall back into bad habits. Good luck

| Have you considered sending her away to a training place? My neighbor ended up doing that with her dog, she works a lot and was having a lot of trouble training him. I also met a woman at a pet store who sent her dog. Both were thrilled with the results. I think it was like $2,000 though. |
