Oh my gosh! I've never heard of a pet doing this! It seems like she just doesn't like the crate or being confined. Have you tried an xpen with the same results? So at this time you keep her in a room so she doesn't cause harm to herself? Has she hurt herself/caused damage in the room y'all put her in. She pooped and peed on ur hubby? that would not go over well at our home. Had you recently taken her to the restroom? Do you think it could have been submissive urination....idk about the pooping though.

You just really need to follow thru with your end and she will be trained. It's when you become complacent they fall back into bad habits. Good luck
It is great the book How to Housebreak Your Dog in 7 Days" is very helpful. They are not as easy to housebreak. This is what I used for Galen. It worked pretty good

Wow! I can feel your frustration. Do you have two dogs? You mentioned your husband taking "them" for a walk. This little girl sounds really out of control and maybe should be re homed to someone who knows how to deal with this type of problem.

What are you feeding her? It is not normal for a dog her age to be pooping that much. Are her stools soft or firm? How many hours a day is she spending her playpen?

She is only in her big playpen for four to five hours at the most and that is not everyday. I do have another one and right now they are in separate pens because I wanted to make sure I knew it was her doing all the damage and messing things up and it is. Her stools are normal I even had that checked by the vet. They eat Fromm dog food.

She stays in a really big exercise pen in the extra room right now. If you leave her by herself where she can get to the walls she tears holes in the wall. And yes my hubby was very upset especially since she had just come from being on a walk outside! I don't believe it is submissive urination but I am not sure. She does it all the time!

She does not seem to be a happy camper at your house...she might act totally different with someone else or maybe being an only one, I am so sorry that she is not working out for you, I had to rehome one a few years back because she did not like the other dogs, now she is the one and only and happy as can be

There is just something not right about her behaviors. If she can't stay in a crate then you need to tether her to your side to keep a close eye on her. She should not be voluntarily pooping and peeing while being held. Are you free feeding her? Normally a dog will poop shortly after being fed. So if she's getting 2 meals per day you should expect her to poop 2 times. When she's out for her walk does she do her business or is it play time? If your husband takes her out it should be for the sole purpose of elimination. If she doesn't do what she's there for then she needs to be kept right at your side and if any sights of going needs to be taken immediately back out. It sounds like she might have some anxiety issues as well. Have you tried using a Thundershirt or Thundercap.

What about using an anti anxiety med. was that suggested by your vet?

I was wondering about the possibility of medication too. Check out the following links for information about Prozac and other drugs for dogs with anxiety, obsessive/compulsive disorder, or destructive tendencies:

Hi. I have some questions: Are you both always mad at her, most of the time? Do you both talk sternly (or worse) to her to try to correct her? When was the last time she heard the words 'Good Girl' and does she know what they mean? You don't have to answer, but if this is the case, you have to forgive her.

Get any and all bad thoughts out of your heads when dealing with her. Ignore her if she does wrong, including no bad thoughts towards her. Find something that she does right and start there, and praise her, treat her, pet her. Every night hold her and tell her she was a Good girl and that you love her, and tomorrow is another day.
Yorkies are extremely sensitive to our thoughts and feelings towards them. You have to think in your heads and your hearts that you love this dog so she will feel it and believe you. Even if she's been bad all day, make up something for your nightly talk/cuddle time that you can praise her for. Like You're a good girl... we still have a roof! Laugh and praise her.

I know this sounds crazy, so what. Try it. You should start to see a change in 2-3 days.

Remember: It's not her you're upset with, it's only her behavior you don't like.

Great link.....I've used the Thundershirts with great success for anxiety. The Anxitane was helpful but I found the best combination for Bogeys thunder fears was the combo of Benadryl/Thundershirt. Separation anxiety is very real in animals which I think sometimes owners fail to realize. Truthfully, this is what I suspect is happening here.

Yes it could be anxiety, and after all the OP has tried, this was one of my thoughts.

I have never had a dog poop on me when being held. A soft sided play pen might be a good idea, along with one of those very very hard to break nylabones for chewing.

I think this is a 'lack of bonding' issue. Yorkies love attention, and will accept good or bad. She's gotten in the habit of getting bad attention, and is most likely in panic mode bc at the same time, she wants to avoid the bad attention and at heart wants to be a good dog, but doesn't have a clue how to do that.

Cover your clothes with a peepad or a blanket and put her on your lap and remain calm, no matter what she does. All the pooing and peeing is her nerves. Calm and sooth her with your voice. Smile a lot, as it's harder to think and say bad things if you're smiling. Lap time can be short, but make it last longer each time.

You have to reward the good, ignore the bad. Seriously, can it get any worse?
