![]() This would be a wonderful thing! But I would guess, if a neighbor comes to you and TELLS you his dogs are animal aggressive, and he already KNOWS they can jump the fence and get to your little dogs, and yet has not already done something to rectify the problem on his own, I doubt he is concerned enough about this to pay for something he apparently considers YOUR problem. When it becomes HIS problem, then perhaps he will give it some thought. | |

| ![]() And please don't assume that you, yourself are safe bc the dog is only 'dog aggressive'. Having a small dog in your arms can also make you a target. Living here with a similar situation....

| ![]() I am sorry you are in this situation that you can't even enjoy your own backyard safely. Hoping you can resolve things with your neighbor. They have a responsibility to keep their dog in their yard, especially one that they know is dog aggressive.

| ![]() "Standard" in my area is 6ft unless its blocking a driving view from a road then it needs to be set back 4 ft. A 6ft will help alot but you still need to be cautious. I would check with your city. In our back yards we can go 8ft. Sometimes what ppl build isn't a requirement and you can go higher. Sometimes certain things need a permit just to makesure you do it right Last edited by ironmike86; 06-08-2013 at 07:24 AM. |

| ![]() You'll want to check your local building code too as many cities and towns have limits on the height of fences. Mine is 48 inches, haha. You may need a special permit to go higher.

| ![]() Yeah but if allowed and no view restrictions in my are a permit is only $200. That alone can save one vet bill or your dogs life. A 6ft is alot better then a 4ft fence. Most dogs don't go over a 6ft fence. A Coyote will but they are agile hunters. Permits mean it needs to be inspected to make sure your doing it right. To protect ppl and future property owners from shabby work. Be surprise how some ppl can't build anything right. Even Contractors. So many high decks fall of the building with ppl on them ect.. You don't want your fence to fall in a wind storm either. |

| ![]() How scary! I had sold a puppy to a lady, and one day she called me so hysterical I couldn't understand her. Once she could talk, I found out she had been sitting in her yard with her puppy running and playing in her fenced in yard, when a Coyote jumped the fence, grabbed her puppy and jumped the fence out and run off. By time she got out the gate, ran after them it was gone.. and so was her puppy! ![]() I'm so sorry that you have to put up with irresponsible neighbors, and the fear for you babies! ![]() |

| ![]() Yeah Coyote's are hunters.Small Dog cats always disappear in my area. Moki is under constant supervision. But they will take them outta your hand. So if you are in a Coyote area better have something. I've seen them 50ft from me. I live in Town but theres a Forest and a river nearby |

YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() I would put up barbed wire or electric fence or spikes on fence and try not to disturb the people. You do not need to live in fear. Sorry you have to build a fortress for some selfish people. They should build it. Keep the peace if possible but guard your dogs. |

YT 1000 Club Member | ![]() I understand the need for Animal Control under these circumstances, but, please realize this is an issue of Trespassing as well. It is the Dog's Owner's responsibility to control the animals activities, and the intrusion onto your property, the threat that represents to you and your property (dogs) is a Criminal Act. Photographic evidence of this (as has been recommended) will be very helpful in getting this issue resolved.

YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() We are putting in 8 outside security cameras this weekend. We have three stands of barbed wire at the top of our chain link fence for dogs, but a few weeks ago some one used wire cutters on our fence to try to steal my babies. Stray dogs, neighbors dogs, coyotes, hawks and thief s! Man, it is shouldn't be this difficult trying to keep our babies safe in our own back yards!!! OP I truly feel for you........you, your husband and furbabies are in my prayers.
