You have to make a big fit over him, how gorgeous he looks, at least in front of him....go outside and cry, but dont let him see you thinking he has been ruined! Itwill grow out, but just like when our skin kids hit milestones, and we turn around and look at them and that little boy or little girl doesnt exist anymore...they look different and we miss that baby boy! Now some of these babys are true black, and they remain black all their life....and if you shave them down to their skin, they are black....I have three like that, true black with gold heads....but usually the true blacks are cotton coated.....I am trying to get a silky black, so exquisite! Your baby will go thru several shades of blonde => silver => grey => gun metal grey => maybe "blue"! | |

| I think he looks really cute! I am partial to shorter cuts tho. I hated Jackson's puppy hair with a passion! I would brush it and 10 mins later he would look ridiculous. But it does seem they did the body is wayy too short, but I can't tell if it's actually "bald" spots, or just white hair? Jackson had white on him after his first hair cut. And then he had a bad hair cut around 8 months or so where they shaved him wayyy too close, like your boy, but the good news is it grows back quickly! It eventually turns to silver. Here is from then to now...

| Really, your pup is so stinkin' cute!!!! The groomer did a great job on his face. I would just tell them not to shave him so short next time - they don't have to shave so close, unless he has mats and I think I saw where you posted that he may have had some mats. I would give the groomer one more try and just tell them you don't want it that short. I have Jack's hair shaved down typically in April for the summer - he actually goes in on Tuesday - and then again around in August for the winter and let it grow all winter long. The colors you are describing are very normal. Yes, it is a shock the first time you see them with their dark hair gone and "platinum blonde" as I saw someone refer to. At 8 months, he is still young and his hair color can change up to 3 years of age. Right now Jack's hair at the root tends to be lighter but then it does darken up as his hair grows out. Jack will be 4 next month and his hair right now is light at the root, darker in the middle and light tan on the tips - kind of weird but that shows how much he has changed since his last haircut. Jack just a few weeks ago - a bit rough around the edges. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...1&d=1365791432 Jack with haircut http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...1&d=1365791503

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I think most of us have had a puppy or a dog given a bad haircut. But I found it interesting that no one said that you should have asked for your money back or reimbursement for the hoodies and sweaters. I have done that after taking the before pictures and after pictures.....and promising I'd be sharing the photos with my friends, clients, neighbors--anyone with dogs. |

| That cut is truelly appalling. Clearly groomers really don't take into account a yorkies coat and how it should be handled. I'm getting jasper groomed, next Friday but it is with scissors and I will be making it clear no shaving or clipping. Just a neat tidy up. Poor baby, he is gonna be freezing, don't fret though. I find their hair grows quick enough, he is young too, dont Worry. But I'd be asking for a refund. Last edited by Summerbummer; 04-12-2013 at 10:55 AM. |

| I'm from Michigan too and when we got Avery he was full of mats and I took him to be groomed. They had to shave him down and I was heartsick. All his black was gone and he was very light too. That hair grew so fast though it seemed like a couple months and I was contemplating getting him trimmed! LOL He's had several haircuts since and his hair is now a mix of dark silver and light silver on his back and tan and blonde on his legs and face. So cheer up and give it time He's still a cutie and I think his face cut is adorable too!! |

| Wow they did butcher him!! Unless he had lots of matting close to the skin, there is no reason for them to shave him that short. I would have been pretty mad, I've shaved mine but never that short. Fortunately it is just hair and will grow back. I think if they would have left it a little longer it would look great on him, they just went too short. He still looks adorable though and he has the cutest face, I just want to hug him!!
