You don't need papers to find them homes. You shouldn't be selling them for much anyways since you don't know the mother's background at all or potential health problems these pups could have. Just find them good loving homes where they will be cherished as pets.

| I agree a rehoming fee of about $200 is about right. I wouldn't really worry about people trying to turn around and sell them for more, bc the fact they don't have any papers, people aren't willing to pay much more without papers.

| I agree a $200 adoption fee seems appropriate. Also: Rehoming resale contract... I think OP needs to establish a more inclusive comprehensive sales contract. Perhaps a mandatory spay/neuter in it with a fiscal penalty if it's not done & proof provided by 6 months of dog's age (we are talking small dogs so weigh over age is an issue) and a rehoming notification or fiscal penalty if needed. OP it's ONLY $20-40 to microchip the pups DO IT BEFORE THEY LEAVE YOU-you'll attract buyers better, rest better knowing pups are safer and will be better off if lost. I'm getting annoyed at how few breeders are micro chipping-sorry it's becoming a serious pet peeve.

Please make sure that the pups will be spayed and neuter . We don't need more dogs at the shelter.

| No one has a right to tell her what she can or cannot do with her pups or what price she can sell them for. It's her pups, her business, she doesn't tell you what to sell your stuff for. I wish people on here would stop trying to dictate what others can do. darkprincess they are cute and if they have a brown nose they are chocolate if they have a black nose then they are golds. Good luck on your new babies.

Pups with no papers unclear parentage etc should cost what? Same as rescue IMHO. Yes it's her business, yet she posted & asked on a public forum... Would you want her to sell her pups at the same price as yours?

| Smokey is my first boy foster that I've seen before and after neuter. There was swelling, but when I poked it it deflated, then puffed back up. LOL But def different than before the snip snip. But if she got the dog already assumed it was neutered, I guess there was no before and after to compare, but if he was recently neutered, there would have been stitches or something. By the time stitches come out, the swelling should be gone.

I'm still confuzzled about the possible paternity of these pups. How long did she have the dogs before the pups were born? If she had the male for just a short time and it was a recent neuter (less than 1 month) it's possible he fathered the pups (sperm can live in the vas deferens for several weeks after a neutering). More likely, it was a stranger just passing through, though. IDK. Definitely a case for The Maury Show.

Now I know very little about her personally other than word of mouth, but she and I agree that just because someone breeds off YTCA standards doesn't mean they should have no standards. I am perplexed at the defense of this breeder it was my understanding this breeder was very selective. I beleive that's the part about canceling sales at any time she feels a sale would not be in the best interest of her pups... I noted a sinusitis of the OP's situation because I'm confused by this breeder's defensiveness here.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | One thing though, if the male had been to a vet at any point during the OP's ownership, he/she would have been able to tell if the dog was neutered or not. All it would take is a quick touch to figure it out.
