YT 2000 Club Donating Member | I just read through this whole thread. Is anyone not even concerned that the OP stated she wasn't even sure if the dam had had her shots; that she was going to the vets to get her checked over and get her shots??? And she gave birth!. To the OP and Prospective Purchasers of these Puppies. The most this OP can say prior to sale of these puppies, is that they are up to date on all shots, de wormed, and have been vet checked for basic health. Due to the unknown parentage and health lineage of these puppies, I have no idea if these pups will remain healthy throughout their life. Please be advised that Yorkshire Terrier Breed has some known Health concerns: As follows: LS = Liver Shunt Neither parent was screened for this prior breeding. Please do a BAT test on your puppy at 16wks old to check for this. Extrahepatic Liver Shunt surgery can run anywhere from $1500 - $2000 LP = Luxating Patella Unknown if either parent has this or if the puppies will. Higher grades of LP usually require surgery See costs as above CT - Collaping Trachea - No idea if this is in their lines or not. HD or Leggs Perthes Disease: - as the parents were never tested and I have no idea of the health lineage - Again there is a risk that your puppy may develop either one or both. Eye Disease: PRA Progressive Retinal Atrophy - Cataracts Again as no pre breeding testing was done your puppy may develop this over their lifetime. NB: Unless you have DNA;d the litter and the parents to prove parentage, the most you can say about the sire is that you ":believe it to be a male Yorkie"

Nonetheless doesn't the OP not know if they are purebred yorkies? That indeed is a bit of a pickle in terms of health lineage.

Blue something?? yes, blue borns have 2 copies of the recessive dilute gene which means that both parents are Dd and the pup got a copy of the recessive "d" from each parent - making the pup dd. I have a "blue something" pup. Chocolates do not have the same genetic make-up as "blues" if thats what you were trying to post.

no, i wasn't trying to tell her chocolates don't have the same genetic make up as any other yorkie . I wanted her to know that there is no health risks that follow the double recessive gene..lol what what health issues is it blue borns have. somehow, i think i am talking about the wrong one.. there is one that is born with alot of health or skin issues? and breeders avoid them like the chocolates? | |

| Blue borns are the "dreaded" babies....although there is proof not all of them have numerous health issues,,,,, If you research into...oh wait, me....you will find that yes, blue borns do have many health issues, but not all are fatal, (see Mack Brown)

| Wow just read this entire thread. Don't know how I missed it the first time. Hope these puppies all found loving homes and that the OP was honest about their breeding to the new owners. They are very cute as are all puppies IMHO but didn't look like full bred yorkies to me.
