| Yeah double amen to that. Also, to avoid more possible issues for you and for the groomer, you may want to get your fur baby spayed as soon as possible after she gives birth. At least then you'll have peace of mind sending her to the groomers, and then the groomers won't have to be given the responsibility to be constantly watching her. Good luck!

| Strange that there were sooo many un-neutered little boys running around unattended. ![]() Look, $100 isn't all that much if it saves her life. What if a 25-30 pound male mated with her? No way she could survive that. You have a responsibility to your Dog to care for it to the best of your ability. This is not an option. You must take her to the vet. Furthermore, I understand your pro-life stance. I have the same views. But this is a dog not a human. Think of HER life.

| Is this for real? I don't have my own Yorkie yet but I know one thing for sure: this is very scary! I'm praying for your little girl and your family. Please, for all the at is good and Holy, take baby girl to the vet NOW! Do you have a paypal? Maybe we can defray some of the cost of the xray if it's that much of a deterrent for you... (Totally not being rude, but how are you going to shoulder the expense of PUPPIES if you scoff at $100 for good health care?) |

Playing devil's advocate here, but why should the groomer be responsible for costs? If anyone other than the OP should be financially responsible, wouldn't it be the owner of the un-neutered male dog? Can a groomer reasonably be expected to keep two dogs apart while he/she is busy grooming other dogs? A tie can occur even if the dogs are separated by cages. It seems to me that ultimately it was the responsibility of the OP to not bring the dog in while she was in heat. It would also seem to me that it would be pretty difficult to prove that the tie happened at the groomers short of DNA testing all the potential father's that were there that day (not a cheap process). Like I said, Devil's Advocate.

| I'm sorry! I wasn't soliciting funds, I was offering my own funds (we, as in my husband and I). Anyhow, I do apologize for violating the terms. I am very ashamed. I was just trying to be helpful. |

The un-neutered male owner shouldn't be responsible, he/she took there dog to be groomed not studded out. ![]() I just believe the FULL responsibility should be the owner of the Female in heat giving all the information. She knew her female was in heat!! It's the responsibility of the OP to keep her female in heat safely away from other dogs, and she didn't do that.

| I admit I am sceptical about this but here goes anyway. It is my firm believe that when you buy a puppy part of the expense is the spay or nuture. I also realize that things happen and there may come a time money is short. What gets me is this I hate to tell people but I am on disability and Andy never suffers for anything. If you don't have the cash on get yourself a good vet that will take payments. There are companys out there that loan you money for emergency pet care. Speak to your vet for phone numbers. Then there is this. I would not have taken my furbaby to the groomers when it was heat knowing they let them run loose in play areas. If you had told her of the heat and she disregarded that. Then she is responsible for pregnacy pet care IMHO

The OP stated that the vet told her her female has all the 'signs' of pregnancy but it was to early for x-rays. Over the years I have had many females show signs of pregnancy but they were not pregnant. It is not uncommon for a female after a heat cycle to show signs of pregnancy, even if they weren't bred. Many females will go off their food and mope around for two months after a heat cycle then they will perk up and get back to normal. As for the groomer, the OP stated the groomer assured her the female would not be put with any intact males. If the female came in heat the first part of January then under normal circumstances she would have been out of heat by the end of January, but not knowing exact dates it is hard to say. Most heats just last 21 days. I have a friend that is a groomer and she sure does not let all the clients dogs run loose together. It does not sound like a good practice letting client dogs run loose together, even if they are not in heat unless you are darn sure of the personalities of each dog. To the OP, if your girl is indeed pregnant I wish you the best of luck with her. Please come back and keep us updated. Breeding, whelping and rearing a litter is a huge responsibility and there are many experienced people here that are will to help you.

| I have serious doubts about this entire story. Hey~that's just my opinion.

The only thing that will answer the is she or isn't she question is either an xray now or a possible delivery in a few days.
