Wow!!

I read things here that shock me sometimes. From the people asking questions to the people answering them. I keep reminding myself that I am only in control of MY own actions.

This is what I TRY very hard to do...not perfectly because none of us are perfect:
I won't let what someone else says get a rise out of me. I apologize if I feel I may have been wrong. I will not make excuses for my own bad behavior, so in advance I put thought into what I want to say. I am an adult and a Christian and an animal lover and I want what I say to be a good representation of that.

Like I said before, this is an online forum, you are going to get good and bad. I am the only one who can choose how I want to contribute, and I am only in control of myself.

What it all comes down to is that this is a very informative site. I have even told people who dont own yorkies about it as I have learned quite a bit.

Because of that, this site will draw the uninformed... and I hope they stick around.

Beautifully said. I think it is remarkable how quick all on this forum are to apoligize when our emotions get away from us or we read a thread wrong. I had to apologize practically my first day. Where dogs are concerned, emotions do run high.

Are you really offended with my comment? Caps on what breed clubs do etc...? "life is in your hands..." I think that wasn't meant to me... I'm not a breeder...just a "Parti" Yorkie enthusiast....again I said I more than respect "standard" breeders...it's the "sworn to protect it" all dramatically part that causes issues with people making comments about such and such being irresponsible in breeding because of....color...not oh they breed too frequently or don't health test, certify their dogs, don't math them well etc...instead of I don't prefer the Partis etc...it does get daunting to constantly hear the YTCA agenda...not so hidden obviously used to degrade others and their dogs...anywho...

I don't want to change the topic here...just saying I don't understand why the YTCA can't just be all inclusive or is it truly to be considered the Standard Yorkshire Terrier Club of America (I know I'm so naive right) ? Others color with their breed clubs find a way to have a non-three-breed-altered dog accepted into the AKC for showing...they're Yorkies in one meaning and acceptance not so much in another...

Just wish everyone in the least could get along, respect the preferences of others, and take issue with calling something irresponsible breeding when in fact their definition of irresponsible is based on a truly irresponsible actions that would apply to even their breed or breed color of choice (again I'm perhaps just all naive right?)...

Like I said I have a pure white miniature schnauzer she is registered here and is registered in Germany. In Germany she is acceptable for show here no...she's white and the American club excludes white while in Germany they accept them....considered black with the exclusion of pigment...I don't get it all but at least they include all naturally occurring colors.

Just seems all politics to me......hmmmmm explains it so much thinking of it like that.

This is off topic, but I just have to share.
I use my iPad 99% of the time, with auto correct on. Last night I was responding to a friends announcement on FB about finding out they are expecting a boy (they have had some problems getting prego and so this is quite a joyous occasion for them!) I typed "awwww" and it changed it to "assess", but it read like I was calling them "a$$e$". this is a couple from my church that I love dearly. My iPad won't let you delete a post on FB, so I had to run upstairs to my regular laptop, get it booted up and delete it. I about had a heart attack. When I went to bed I told my mostly asleep husband the story and he of course thought it was hilarious! Aw, the problems of modern technology!

and some of us are thankful that they do I am the 4th generation in my family to have yorkies. My kids (18 & 20), in just a couple of years, when they get their yorkies, will be the 5th. I'm glad someone is preserving the standard so that my grandchildren's yorkies will be like my great-grandmas yorkies were.

Telling someone to take her healthy, 4 week pregnant, bred by a yorkie, female in for an emergency spay, is totaly ridiculous. Just because this person is nnot an experienced breeder, does not mean that she is not capable of handling the situation.

Badgering an bullying is not very effective. Give the advise then let it go. If they take the advice, wonderful. If they don't, all the bullying in the world is not going to help. It is only going to run them off.

My point was that you dislike the YTCA for the very thing they are suppose to do. You should then dislike all breed clubs, because they also have standards, a breed club is not all-inclusive, and it can't be! While I believe it's okay to disagree with their choice of standard, it seems like too many people constantly are putting down the YTCA, and belittling it because of their personal preferences.

My second paragraph was directed at the people who criticize other breeder's replies. Sometimes an experienced breeder will say things like, "You need to get that dog to the vet", and another breeder will say, "Oh you just think only people who show should breed, we all have to start somewhere."

So, I'll add my 2 cents. For what it's worth.

This, along with most things in life, boils down to recognizing that it's all about perspective! I think we should all try to remember that...

We have new members, and long-term members; older single owners, young with little children owners, men, women, couples, wealthy, economically challenged, experienced, unexperienced; those who researched and carefully chose a breeder and puppy, and those who had a puppy fall in their lap (like me) and are doing the very best that they can. We have those who come on here looking for trouble (and lying...what IS that about anyway?!), those who made HUGE mistakes and now want to fix them, and those who made mistakes and are (for some reason) making them repeatedly despite what they are told; we have people posting opinions and helpful advice for the first time and those posting advice they've said for years and they're tired of it. We have super tinies (like Zoe...how I wish she was bigger for health reasons, BUT I love her so much!) and super giants...Go Teapots . If we remember that, as we post, advise and read...it just all gets so much easier to understand and it ALL makes more sense. I always tell my children that one of the quickest ways to get along is to carefully consider the other's perspective.

I am so very grateful for the advice and help I have gotten here. It truly saved Zoe's life and I know YT will continue to be an incredible influence on her health as we grow and learn.
