| I really need opinions,BIG, HUGE TIME..PLEASE Hi. I am devastated. Totally! I arrived here in the US just under a month ago. And my little baby came with me obviously from England. He is 8 and a bit by the way, I've known him since 6 weeks and he been with me since 8.5 weeks. Anyway my scedule was to stay here in the US through until next April. We have both settled perfectly in every way and are very happy. However I need to have an operation which simply cannot wait. And it is a long recovery. I am european and do not have obviously US Health Care and my insurance will cover only for the surgery to take place back in Europe and not in America. Anyway my little baby will not be allowed back in to England until January 20th which would be 6 months from the date of his positive blood tests for his passport. I need to leave almost immediately. I cannot bear him in quaratine despite that we will both be in the same town. We are talking more than 2 whole months in quarrantine. I am questioning now my love for him. I adore him! Or do I? Why am I here writing this? I think I love him so much and that's why I don't want him to face quarantine. He will hate it I know. Om my God no way, he is so outgoing, free, funloving and to have to put him through that would destroy me. Do you all know what I mean? I adore this creature!!! I am thinking to give him here in to States to a good family rather that put him through that? I feel 'sick' even writing this, thinking about such a possibility, I don't even know if I could do even if it was the right thing to do, so bad it hurts. It has come to the point where I may need to travel very soon (although I am waiting for some final test results later that if passed, my dr here in the US may let me stay through until next year and my intended return), however it is unlikely. What do I do? I don't want to lose my baby nor do I want to put him through ny suffering because of my circumstances albeit medical ones. I don't have family or friends to the degree where I could leave him here by the way. And my mum was due to come in for thanxgiving. It is all upside down but my no 1 concern is for the love of my life....HELP!!!! |

| First, I am very sorry for your predicament. I know exactly how you feel as we have been given orders to England with only 3 months notice...not nearly enough time to get done what the UK wants before bringing my babies in. I have all the same thoughts as you going through my head and go back and forth daily on it. Should I just get done what I can and bring them and have them go into quarantine, how will they do in Quarantine, they will need to be there so long, should I leave them with family here and hope they can get over there after the time is up or should I find them a nice home together so at least they can be together even if I have to lose them??????? I honestly am leaning toward taking them and dealing. Hopefully they will be close and I can visit as often as possible, maybe every day. Still not sure that is an option we can afford. I think this whole thing sucks! I wish I could offer you more than my sympathies but I am hoping someone, anyone can come along with any real words of wisdom on your thread or mine.

| I dont know the whole procedure but could you find someone to foster your baby here and get all the health concerns taken care of and then have your baby flown to you when everything is taken care of? |

| Will you be coming back to the US after your surgery? If so, how long will you be gone? I'm thinking maybe someone could take care of him for you while you are in the UK for surgery or even until Jan 20th, when he can fly back to the UK and not have to be quarantined. I hope you can figure something out and don't have to rehome him. Will be thinking of you.

| Hi, the UK have very very strict rules, which seem to be a little over the top and some what outdated. DEFRA.co.uk have all the rules for bringing a dog into the UK and yes it's sooooo frustrating, but you said your dog is a UK dog, did you not have a passport for him on leaving the UK? He would of had his microchip and rabies innoculations before leaving, and I am confused, but did you not wait the 6 months period and blood test before going out to the states? There is no way round it, I am sorry..UK control will not let even a british born dog back into the UK without the 6 month waiting clause, and if the rabies innoculations have lapsed whilst out of the country for what ever reason, they will expect the 6 month wait all over again. I feel so upset for you really, can you not find an organisation who would take your boy for the three months? and then ship him out to you? If I lived in the states I would have him for you really, I did it for friends, when I lived in Spain, and I know some UK people living in Spain took in peoples dogs, while they were waiting for the 6 month clearance, it was not cheap though, some charged up to £1,000 and that didn't include shipping costs. I truly hope a kind samaritan comes tio your rescue.

| What a truly sad situation. I am so very sorry for your medical condition and will pray for a successful outcome on your upcoming surgery. I would suggest trying to find a foster to keep your beloved while you are in the UK having your surgery and during your recovery period. Then, if you are able to come back to the states, your little one will be overjoyed with a USA reunion. If you aren't able to return, then have him shipped (via personal courier) after the quanantine date is over. Good luck to you both. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I don't know if they take long-term boarders, but if you are in a position to pay for boarding until your dog can be shipped back to you, I can highly recommend the folks at Yorkie Camp. They're located just 40 miles east of L.A. so you would be able to visit them and see their wonderful facilities. Their website is YORKIE CAMP/SPA . |

Defra, UK - Wildlife and pets - Pets and horses - Travelling with pets I believe there are not that many quarentine sites in the UK : London/Manchester? so you may not be that near to them.

| I'm not too sure but I don't think she would have had to do all of that to bring her baby here to the states so I am guessing that is why she has to do it to get now to get back in.

Are you thinking that IF I can't work that out that they are better off in a new home instead of quarantine if that becomes the only option? We will be about an hour and half north or London so no I guess we couldn't be that close. Bertipup, I do think that would be best, if you can find someone to take them and ship them over later. If you don't have anyone here, you are in a great place where people will really give it their all to help out if they can.

| i am so sorry for your situation. I hope u get well and that u find a solution for your baby. u might could check into a yorkie rescue. They might take him on a temporary basis. I would get him micro chipped if i could so that it might help u keep track of him. Also if he did get placed somewhere temporarily id make sure i had details written up and signed on paper so that the details where lined out and so u can get him back. all the best for you. |

| I am so sorry to hear about both of your situations. I hope I do not ever have to go through something like that. I have 6. I rescue and foster small breed dogs, most are yorkies. I would be more than happy to help you both out in fostering your little ones. I live on the East Coast so it is a bit far from California. But if it helps you to be able to not rehome your babies than that might be much better for both of your families. If you are interested please pm me and we can talk further. Good Luck.
