| I too purchased Buster from a store that implied that they did not use puppy mill breeders. I too found out later the true story of Busters beginning. I am glad your dog is healthy. When I first got Buster he had a bad case of kennel cough which became pneumonia and he was intensive care for 3 days. He also came with parasites which took over 6 months to get rid of. He was sold to me as healthy. But in checking out the paperwork they were all ready treating him for these issues. I researched the breeder and found out about them from the USDA. I contacted the pet shop after spending $2500.00 on his medical expenses in the first three months. The will not refund any money spent on parasites but did refund $1700.00 towards his other medical bills. We just had luxating patella surgery and he has arthritis in both front elbows and he is only 15 months old. He too was given a CKC registration but I did not pay to get the document because I realized it was just another con to get more money from me. I love my little boy. He is the best thing to ever happen to me. BUT...His parents should not have been breeding stock and I fear for the life that they live as pawns of commercial breeders. I have learned a lot in my first year with Buster. The best thing that I learned was what unconditional love is. |

), assuring that was NOT what I meant at all. I thought I'd made my point clear, which is why I was a bit surprised to receive reprimanding PMs advising me of how to post 'appropriately.' (But not really surprised as there always seem to be people who think it is their place to dictate what others say, think and do.)I think we can all agree that it is very important and beneficial to do your research in advance and really take a hard look at any breeder you are considering, right? And that if you don't, the possibility exists that you will end up being scammed and may have health issues on your hands that you have to deal with as a result? That was the point I was trying to make BECAUSE not everyone is aware of these things in advance. But if it's never stressed when examples like this come up, then people will continue to remain in the dark.

| When you are new to the dog world, and have never heard of puppy mills, and the owner says they are from breeders and loving homes, and you do not know any better that there is something to beware of, well of course you might believe them. Why not? I did. And I am far from a stupid person. When you unaware of the tremendous profits these puppy mills make and the whole nature of the industry, it is very possible for people to make mistakes and get caught. |

| I hope the puppy stays healthy I believe the public is becoming more aware of puppymill situations as I see it on the news more now than I use to about someone busting them and taking the dogs from them. I hope more and more get busted and more people start researching where they get their dogs whether it be yorkies or any other purebred. All it takes is research and not to be in a hurry to add a loving furbaby to your family. I would hope one would take the time to research for a furbaby as one would a child in foster care or up for adoption.Donna |

| YT Addict | This is so sad. I emailed this person and said that what you are doing is wrong and blah blah blah. I know it most likely won't do anything, but hey, I figured I would try. I don't understand why they need my phone # and everything. I gave a fake name and phone #, but used my back-up email. I made up a story saying I was interested in some of their pups, but I did research and found they were a puppy mill. This one baby looks so sad. There's just something about her that brings tears to my eyes. http://worldkennelusa.com/gmb/bbs/gm...3&page=1&c_id=

![]() And no, just to clarify, I would not equate having a used car seen by a mechanic to having a dog checked by a vet. The comparison being made was buying a dog while just taking someone's word on it vs buying a used car while just taking the owner's word for it. Why are we still having this "debate?" Because you keep posting trying to further explain yourself, as do I. Last edited by BamaFan121s; 11-01-2010 at 12:27 PM.

| Hi Linda...Josie is a beautiful girl! I hope she lives a very long, healthy life. I'm sorry to read the circumstances of Josie's purchase weren't the best, but she is very fortunate to have you!
