how I said it and therefore how people chose to interpret that. In that case, I'm not so concerned.for I would worry about someone misunderstanding the point I was trying to make, which apparently everyone agrees is valid, but not so much about if everyone universally approves of how I choose to word things. I've learned that you are not going to please everyone and that those who looking to be offended will usually not be disappointed.
And no, just to clarify, I would not equate having a used car seen by a mechanic to having a dog checked by a vet. The comparison being made was buying a dog while just taking someone's word on it vs buying a used car while just taking the owner's word for it.
