Just got off the phone with the Jackson police department... |
Wow! If she would sell those rings on her finger & that video camera, she could pay some vet bills. Poor little dog. If the dog really is ill(still skeptical) & not temporarily disabled with Lidocaine injected into its major joints, things like that, when it finally does die or Animal Control seizes it for neglect/depraved indifference or something, she will no doubt come up with another scheme for money & attention. I'll bet she avidly reads posts about herself daily here. A drama addict loves attention & the more riled they can get people, the better they like it. |

She isn't going to give the pup up shes had too many opportunities to do so...in fact, she had a deposit on the dog when she was asking $5500.00 for a lady had given her $1500.00, and she refunded the deposit after a month she decided that she was "too attached" the reason she's doing this is one word DRAMA! She thrives off it! Its sick, but I believe she's narsacisstic, extremely immature and needs to be reported before another animal gets hurt. She can afford to make payments to her friend regarding her newest pup Bently that she just got 3 weeks, then she should pay her own vet bills! |

Well first, and I felt like Jodi while doing this, I had to find her address because it's not posted on her website. So that took a little bit, but once I did I google mapped it because on her website she has a picture of her house and I wanted to make sure it was the right house. The guy on the phone didn't sound like he took me serious, but then I mentioned that she's trying to solicit money for this dog and claim it to be a "charity" fundraiser it sounded like he started to perk up. He told me that they'd run her name, stop by, and if something doesn't seem quite right, they'd start an investigation. My exact words were, "You know this may not seem like a tough criminal, or something to waste your time on. But I know that in many cases, those who abuse animal have additional law breaking tendencies and in fact it was Jeffery Dahmer who started the research into linking animal cruelty to compulsive behavior..." |

I sure hope the police took you seriously. Probably they are so busy with human-on-human crime, they don't have much time for poor little dogs but maybe an Assistant D.A. fresh out of law school who loves dogs in that city might. |
I told him that this woman has had a past with issues regarding breeding and law in general. I'm going to be contact my local human society, I'm friends with a few people who work there, and see if there's anything else that can be done. Next step would be getting them or animal control involved. |

I let the police know the location and time that she is having the "fund raiser". Like I said, I can't sit on my hands any longer and hope that someone else does something. Have to at least try. |

Figured I'd give the police a try first, just so they have a call and her name in the system. |

Ok so what would you consider recent? The pup is four months old so anytime in the last four months would be recent..So there are even more people that you know that allowing this? Collectively, I believe you could do something, collectively go to Animal Control, PETA, SOMEONE-ANYONE...if this was a human child would *you*? I wonder. She, obviously has NOT done everything she can to get this dogs treatment, shes too freaking busy asking for donations...she could CAN turn this dog over to a rescue RIGHT NOW. BULLDUNG...she has several pages and websites out there including this one: Raise Money For Surgery To Support Tanisha Breton Where she gives HER paypal address, notice the web address (sorry Tanesha even though you spelled it different it shows in searches)...except for the one where she cut and pasted the little girl with Leukemias Page header (this is exactly what I would expect of someone like this).. FACTUAL? THE fact is you are enabling her, even here...I'm sorry but as someone who knows other someones who know this person directly...you are all collectively failing this pup...you are not doing all you can to help this pup...HOWEVER, I do believe if you try, you may be able to GO to animal control, GO TO LOCAL YORKIE RESCUE, GO TO THE NEWS WITH THE RESCUE...PICKET OUTSIDE HER HOUSE (just make sure you stay on side walk and keep moving - cuz yes, I've done this) |
Could someone please either post or pm me the number of animal control so I can call? If anyone else would like to do it, pm me I will share the number. |
You are a true Dog Good Citizen! Hopefully, those who have jurisdiction over domestic animal's quality of life in Jackson won't let this go on & on. This little dog's life looks miserable - it cannot lead any kind of real life - it is just trying to live while its owner buys more & more dogs to breed from what I've read here. |

The more people we have contacting the animal control, the better. |

Well, an Animal Control visit at least can investigate & see if there truly is neglect & cruelty under the State/County laws and maybe get the dog some help, educate her or if not, it is what it is, as they say. I found the Jackson, Michigan Animal Shelter website very easily on Google as can anyone, so I will call them to see if an out-of-stater who is acting off information solely from the internet can make a request for an investigation or welfare check on the dog. |
Just getting caught up.....I am SO mad about this. This poor baby :( I've been looking up the laws here in Michigan and came across this Michigan Duty to Provide Adequate Care Provision |

She has taken this pup to a vet. I have said before that I don't believe animal control will be doing anything in this case. This puppy is only going to get turned over if she decides to do it and I seriously doubt that will happen. She is now saying it is not congenital which really is not true because the dens is missing. Her son did not hurt this puppy as she is now saying. She needs to be dealt with the way I suggested before. Only if she gets nailed for all of this income is she MAYBE going to stop breeding this little pups. |

Well, if the vet said it needed treatment she is failing to provide, I think AC can step in. Of course, I don't really know what the vet told her but maybe a welfare check will follow-up & see if she is providing adequate care for a sick animal under the law. |
