I am glad you are starting a new group and breaking away from Tanisha's. I know ppl who have attended hers and have heard of the collections that are taken to help support her and help her. I think this act and going along with this act helps support an unscrupulous breeder/person. Actually, I would not attend those meetings, even if they were next door to me, bc I do not condone her actions. However, MI is a big, beautiful state, and I certainly did not want to assume in our first interaction that you knew who she was, ever attended a meetup of hers, etc. Back on the positive note - I am glad you are starting one and are giving ppl in MI a positive alternative to Tanisha's meetup. Perhaps you could speak to the humane society, lic. bureau, etc, in MI to help these poor pups be rescued from a life of being used as money-makers. I don't think I can stomach seeing another disturbing pic from this breeder. It would be wonderful if these pups had an advocate in their own state. I have done advocacy work (human), and I'm sure you would like it. It is very rewarding. |
I am heartbroken over this entire thing:( Just curious... Why is megansmomma "suspended?" What does that mean? |
Knowing Jodi she called something like she saw it, and ommitted the internet politeness policy Ann is subject to applying...a time out for mouthy behavior. Please refer ro my usertitle... |
TANISHA SENT THIS OUT TO HER MEETUP GROUP, I HAVE REMOVED THE PERSON'S NAME THAT SHE IS STRIKING OUT AT: "Circumstances cause us to act the way we do. We should always bear this in mind before judging the actions of others." I wanted to let the Michigan yorkie meetup group know that (I REMOVED NAME) has left our group and she is personally contacting anyone who is supporting me either by message or by phone including multiple states and I wanted to voice my side of the story not knowing whom of my supporters, and donors she has contacted. Not that I feel like I should have to defend myself or explain myself but I wanted to tell the group my side of the story not that I feel like SOME are worthy of my time to even explain myself but to those who have supported me I cannot express what that has meant to me personally. I do want to thank all of those who have been there even emotionally supporting not just Mia but me as well. I do want to tell the group I am not sure if I will be doing any meetups for a while. I do not feel comfortable to sit in the same room with people I thought were my friends but do not support me when I needed them the most I am VERY HURT! I am well aware of the fact that (I REMOVED NAME) has left the group who is not a breeder but is hell bent on attacking me for trying to do the responsible thing and get Mia her spinal surgery when in many cases most people would have put her down! I think that makes me a responsible pet owner! Instead of taking the easy way out! If I was a breeder who was just in it just for the money then why would I tell the whole yorkie community about Mia's problem, I would have swept it under the rug; I know many breeders would have hide things like this! I just want to clarify that at no time did any rescue group contact me and say they would take Mia and get her surgery if I surrendered her. When in fact most rescue groups are INDIVIDUALS who like me must raise funds in the exact same ways and many times that means fund-raising and asking for donations from sponsors. Rescues themselves do not have the financial means to pay for such a hefty surgical bill let alone most normal pet owners. Anyone who knows me knows I would do whatever it takes to diagnose, treat and successfully help any one of my dogs. I did this not for selfish gains but for my love for my animals! They are pets FIRST and foremost before they are my breeding dogs. They are a part of our home; they live under foot and sleep in OUR bed not in cages. Where they are handled, loved and played with. I do want to point out that Niko and Bentley are NOT the father to Mia like (REMOVED NAME) says but the fact remains she sick and needs help. MY FAMILY ALL LOVE AND CARE FOR OUR PETS DEARLY. (REMOVED NAME) is hindering Mia getting help by calling other members To voice her NEGATIVE/TWISTED opinion and messaging anyone who has donated towards Mia. She claims she wants me to surrender Mia to expedite the surgery she feels I cannot financially afford so I want to state that at this point Mia is not a candidate for surgery because of her size. Therefore NO rescue group would be more capable of helping her with that being said MIA WILL stay with us where she belongs being loved, held and cared for by the only people she has ever known so that gives us time to help raise the funds to be able to get the spinal surgery when the vets at Dogwood feel she is ready. It hurts me and saddens me to think I do not have more so called friend rallying around me instead of attacking me for doing the responsible thing! Which is doing what I have to to get medical treatment for this puppy. I do not think anyone who honestly knows me could say I do not care about my dogs or they are mistreated! Anyone who has seen them, been in my home or seen the way I treat my babies including socializing them with yorkie meetups, and making them personalized clothes would say I am a not a caring pet owner. I also want to clarify one very important POINT I WILL NOT breed a 2 lb dog!!! But in the realm of things I am small potatoes in the breeder world... count the number of puppies I've had this year to date (3) perfect puppies! I would have hope to receive some credit from the people that I would consider the heart of this group. EVERY ONE KNOWS, THERE IS NO PROFIT MARGIN IN BREEDING with health testing, vaccinations, worming, AKC reregistration fees, litter fees, dew claws/ tail docking, vet exam fees, feeding puppies for min. 10-12+ weeks, puppy pee pads etc. I was even offered and turned down an offer of $5,000 on Mia when she was born, because some things are more important than money. I kept Mia because of the bond I formed with her during the months I hand fed and cared for her AROUND the clock, knowing I would never be able to breed her; this is not something a profitable breeder does. Does that make me a crazy dog lady...well...maybe... but at least I am passionate about something important as a LIFE and I think is admirable! "A person's character should be judged by the compassion they have for animals." |
Hmm...Interesting. |
Sounds like a load of shegite. Nowhere does she explain how the injury occurred justifying her need to raise money blah blah blah what I like to refer to as an erse. The pressure is obviously getting to her if she feels the need to justify herself. Nice going Donna hahahaha |
The healthy tests part really gives me a good giggle. Whatever helps you sleep at night, honey! |
When an indivudual rescues they take on all financial responsibility fir their rescue, as well the personal responsibility of being competant educated and probidung the adequate special needs medical behavioral treatment and enviroment, otherwise rescue should be left to the expert nonprofit rescue groups. Some breeders even send a dog to rescue, with a check to cover all costs when they are not capable of providing rhe individual attention needed. |
Oh Taryn you do amuse me so. She tried to infiltrate our fb meet up page and my friends yorkie site as tanisha smith then got banned by fb and someone actually posted on her page nice try tanisha hahaha |

Tanisha Smith...Really? |

Sorry it was Tisha smith but still not very creayive |
Riddle me this batman.... If the dog is too small for surgery why is she raising money for her surgery DUH!!! So it can sit in her bank account. And someone offered her $5000 at birth for Mia and she turned them down. It's not a medical condition she was born with, pretty sure I read her kid broke the dog |
I don't think her child did it. I think that was a story she made up when she saw people talking about her breeding practices. What she is saying is that the vets are waiting for Mia to be a bit larger before doing the surgery....so she is raising money for it now. It boggles the mind that a breeder is begging for donations to fix a mess she made. |

Claims to do health tests and not make a profit, bull crap. If you did health tests AAI, which I'm pretty sure is hereditary, would have never been a complication. |

haha... Spin Dr. indeed...that whole statement from intro to close is rediculous. I wouldn't dignify such stupidity and narcissm with a comment, really? How rediculous can one be and further the only thing left to say....so why the hell are you breeding? Not that I want to hear the response. Infuriating. |

That last line KILLS me:mad: If she had any compassion for animals, she would have surrendered this pup to the rescue that offered to take her and get her surgery. Instead, she lies about it. I'm sure that in the hands of a truly skilled surgeon, her size would be plenty big enough by now. And as far as not putting the puppy down because of her condition being "admirable" NO, it's not, it's torture to keep an animal that is suffering alive if you know darned well that you're not going to do what's right by that animal and get it proper care. No splint, no vet care to speak of..........UGH I'm so disgusted. This kind of thing keeps me up at night:( |
What gets me is that she states she will not breed a 2lb dog. Um Tanisha you already did that with 2 of your females. |

She tried to friend me as Tisha Smith. I never was her friend to begin with. I joined the meet up group and then was hounded by her and left the same week. That was months ago. She is a nut case, and she will pay some day for her actions with this little puppy. She is the worst kind of puppy mill, she believes her own lies. |
She took Mia to the meetup/fundraiser, which was about a 2 hour drive each way. Not sure how that went but I did think it odd that she would risk all the movement, but then perhaps she did not think it safe to leave her home with her two young sons..... A few things I noticed with some of the statements in the emailed posted above: not being in it for the money, no profit margin in breeding 1. The reason she got into breeding was to make money at her hobby. Only it has really not paid off because of problems that have cropped up that she is not financially prepared to deal with, things like C sections, hypoglycemia and now this with Mia, it all gets in the way of the profit. 2. if she was not in it for the money, why have such an elaborate web site, talking about why her puppies are worth more, and depending on size, the smaller the more expensive, anywhere from $1,500 to $3,000 These prices sound like someone in it for money. 3. Feeding till 12 weeks, BS she often sells them at 8 4. She has tried to fake an AKC pedigree, because through her own words here posted under the name Bitsy, "you can sell them for more with an AKC" Responsible Pet Owner getting care for a pet She is hobby breeder trying to get free care for a breeding gone wrong Doing what any rescue group would do hmmmm excuse me, a rescue group takes animals in that need help that have been abandoned, mistreated or surrendered. They do not create problems by breeding puppies, and if I am not mistaken one of the first things a rescue group spends money on if the animal is healthy enough is to have it spayed or neutered. (3) perfect puppies, hmmmm Mia? cute but less than perfect. I would have loved:rolleyes: to have been the sap that paid $5,000 just to say I had one of the smallest "teacup" puppies in the country. Buyers reading this, wise up, yorkies are not dogs meant to be hidden in your pocket, you help help fuel the need to breed unsafely. Responsible pet owners don't keep buying and breeding dogs when they can't afford to take care of the ones they have especially while receiving public assistance. Responsible breeders don't expect people to rally around them and help pay their vet bills, and use a group they formed to guilt and bully into members of it to donating. Health tests, I wonder???...... I think anyone that would inquire on using her stud service should ask for proof of what heath tests were done to determine if the dog is a viable stud candidate as well as full and documented pedigrees on both her males. So I am confused, who is Tanisha, either she is a breeder trying to make money, or a hobby breeder loosing money, or an irresponsible pet owner because she choose to own more dogs than she can afford. One thing I am sure of she is not a rescue organization or individual, so regardless of which of the three she is, none of those type of people should be asking let alone EXPECTING donations to fund her vet care. |

After people started pointing out that AAI was hereditary and any dam/sire involved should be spayed/neutered, she then came up with an an entirely NEW excuse (injury) to try and deflect blame from the breeding program/genetics .... so that she wouldn't have to accept the responsibility of creating the situation could continue breeding those dogs. Although, if one of her kids did injure the pup, she is completely responsible for that, too. SHAME on her either way! Small children and fragile, tiny dogs are a disaster in the making, they don't go together. |

I just don't understand why she can't be stopped. Quote:

She cannot put herself in the category of a "normal pet owner." Once she started breeding, she put herself in a category that carries a very heavy responsibility -- she started bringing these creatures into the world, and any genetic or developmental problem they experience IS of her doing. Any injury they experience while in her care IS her responsibility. If she can't put enough $$ aside to be ready to cover the potential expense, then she doesn't have the resources required, morally or ethically (and in some locations, legally) to be a breeder. |
I could not agree with your more...she is doing no good for this innocent puppy.. Quote:
