i feel the sign is kind of rude and lacks creativity. i hope people have their dogs poop extra in that yard. i think they should make a nice and good looking sign to encourage people to pick up poop, not a lame ugly sign that makes me want to take a poop on their lawn myself.

i like the decorative barrier around the garden idea. the sharp bamboo sticks is really mean. i no like. is this really a big problem, dogs pooping SO MUCH on people's lawns???? i see poop left on people's lawn once in a while here and there, but are their neighborhoods where theres dog poop not picked up in everyone's lawn to make people want to make signs?

and honestly, it kind of IS toilet for the dogs. dogs ARE allowed to go potty on the grass. that is kind of their toilet... so the logic of the sign is wrong. and also, how are people supposed to "control" their dogs if they are walking their dogs and their dogs need to go potty? people should definitely pick up after their dogs. no arguments about that. but dogs are allowed to go potty on lawns. aren't they?

The neighborhood I lived in up in Raleigh had wonderful sidewalks connecting all the subdivisions, townhomes, all leading up to an upscale outdoor shopping center. People walked and jogged around the neighborhoods, pushed baby strollers, and walked their dogs. There was about a 3-4 foot strip of grass between the sidewalk and the street. It was used as the neighborhood toilet by irresponsible dog owners and it was disgusting. It smelled terrible in the warmer weather. I can't get over how inconsiderate of others some dog owners can be. | |

| In my area you can be fined up to $2,000 for not cleaning up after your dog. I don't blame him...I'd hate to have to clean up my own yard after irresponsible dog owners failed to pick up their dog's poop.

| It's too bad that irresponsible dog owner's have driven the neighbor to put up an unattractive sign. I'd be pretty mad too if dogs used my yard as a toilet, and luckily it doesn't happen much. Heck, with my 5 I have plenty of poopies to clean up already in the back yard, and don't need more in the front (especially big ones).

Going potty on the lawn may be acceptable, depending on where you live. If you live in an apartment or rental dwelling, maybe it is, but if you are a home owner, then that property is yours, and is private. They are lucky that only a sign was put up. I know of a situation similar to this, except the sign stated that poison had been put down for weed control and pet control. The reporter of this story did not state if in fact there was poison, or if it was just a deterrent, but who would take a chance.

i have never seen that much dog poop on people's lawn. like i said, i see it once in a while here and there. but it's not a constant thing where i see dog poop in someone's yard everyday. is this a problem in some areas is what i am asking. are there really areas where a lot of irresponsible dog owners do not pick up after their dogs? in my experience, the only place where people tend to leave dog poop is parks or places like that, not in other people's front yard.

the park and the grassy area in the clubhouse of our community used to have a bit of dog poop left by irresponsible dog owners, so i stopped walking milu there, because it's gross. but they remedy that very quickly by installing doggie poles (not sure what they are called?) but basically a pole with poopy bag dispenser and a garbage can attached to it and a picture of a doggie or something on the sign. i dont' find that sign offensive at all, i find the set up very dog friendly and it solved the problem. any common area like that should have something like that installed. especially if a lot of people are leaving their dog's poop there. in my experience, people only leave dog poop in common areas like that, not in other people's front yard. i am sorry if this is a common occurrence in some neighborhood where dog owners consistently let their dog poop in others front yard without picking it up.

| Re: Poo in the yard I go to the doggie park often. I am retired and have yorkies. I watch them the first time they get there because that is when they do their business. I promptly pick up after them. Besides, there are rules posted on the fence before you walk in. However, you would be surprised to see how many people disregard this and let their dogs go poo in the doggie park. One time I stepped into it and brought it into my car and also into my carpets at home. I was flabergasted. Now, even though I see poo from other dogs, I pick it up with the metal poo cleaner that is provided in the park. Often there are verbal fights among park goers that say it wasnt their dog's poo! Unbelievable. A lot of the park goers are too busy chit chatting with each other and dont see their dog's pooing. As far as pooing in other people's yard I would be upset too. My aunt has a pristine garden with roses and such and devotes a lot of time to it. She gets into arguments with the neighbors about it. Her blood pressure has gone up several times. I believe people should be very conscious of their dogs pooing. Its only common sense.

| question for the OP i am just wondering, is it common in your neighborhood to see a lot of dog poop laying in people's front yard? and this family particularly. (the one with the sign up) do you notice they often have piles of dog poop sitting in their yard? also, have they done anything nicer prior to putting up this unsightly sign? i am just not understanding this. i live in an area where i see a lot of people walking their dogs everyday. and yes, i do see dog poop everyday, but it's like one or two different places when i go for a walk with milu, never consistent (location wise) and if i saw a sign like this in my neighborhood, i would be HIGHLY irritated. it's a very ugly sign. i would have wondered the same thing "is this person a dog hater"?

| I can understand the frustration. We have had some irresponible dog owners in our neighborhood let their dogs run loose and they always seem to wander into our yard to poop. My beagle used to love to roll in strange poop left by other dogs for some reason... gross. |

I am also not seeing dog poo in this yard or any signs of dead grass from urinating. So, really do not understand why this person has a sign, unless it is aimed at a neighbor of theirs, that lets their dogs run wild. Who knows? There must be some kind of problem. They are the talk of the dog walking people I meet, though.

| There are people who (whether they own dogs or not) take much time to make their lawns and gardens really nice. It takes labor, money and a love to do what they have accomplished. Whether there is one poop or many piles....no one should have to stop mowing their lawn or whatever and pick up after uncaring people's dogs business. |
