| Probably just tired of dogs pooping in his yard and there owners not picking it up. I completely understand the sign and understand where he is coming from its annoying to have poop all in your front yard when you know its not your own because she stays in the fenced in back yard and is never out in the front except on a leash.

| Well, the homeowner may be frustrated and I understand that. But it certainly doesn't scream 'friendly, welcoming neighbor' to me. I don't care how frustrated I was; my yard would not contain a sign like that. But I live in a great family neighborhood where we all get along and friendliness is valued.

| Hard to say. He may not be an animal lover or just a frustrated homeowner! Obviously we are big dog lovers, but we have a neighbor that lets their dog run loose sometimes and it comes in our front yard & they don't clean up after it. It's frustrating, when you pick up after your own dogs and you see others that don't!

| I know exactly how that person feels. We have a nice green lawn, front and back, but my dogs do not go potty on the front lawn at all, but since most of the people on my street have rocks for yards, my yard ends up the favorite place for people to take their dogs. They must be very large dogs because the poop is like a huge cow patty and red in color............NASTY!!!!!! And the pee turned my lawn brown in big spots all over. I finally put a sign up too that read..............Keep your dog off my lawn, cam corder now activated. It worked. Haven't seen any poop in many months now.

| I think the sign is funny and agree its probably for a certain few, I live in a very nice gated community, we pay to register our dogs and they provide the poop bags, they use to be at the throw away stations in a box but people stole them from neighboring areas so now you need to pick them up at the office once a month or so. I dont like the ones they provide so I buy my own, but it does cut down on the poop, and here people will report you if you dont clean up and more than a few complaints you get a fine. I often cant find it if my dogs go at night, I figure if I cant find it searching for it they wont find it by accident, but I always try to find it. |

| I carry around those little poopy bags and I always pick up after my girls at the park. I hate it when there is dog poop on the trail left for someon to step in!

| It's no fun having poop all over your lawn - the owner is probably fed up. Aside from appearance, it's also a health hazard. |

| Sounds like a dog hater to me...it seems to be direct at the dogs, and not the owner's lack of responsiblity for not picking up after their pets... Pretty amusing tho, thanks for sharing!

| 10 to 1 this guy does NOT have a dog. A simple ~ Please Pick up after your Dog~ would get his point across.

Thor's Human Donating Member | Maybe this guy loves his lawn a little TOO much. I agree with everyone that you absolutely MUST pick up after your dog. If on the rare occasion you are caught without a baggie, that means you have to pick up someone else's poop at another time, or your poop karma will be out of balance. You don't want a big pile of dog poop hanging over your head. I see a variety of signs around my neighborhood, varying from "Please curb your dog" to missives similar to the OP. I do find myself irritated when I pass by a sign lecturing me to be a good neighbor!!!!!!! and to show some consideration!!!!!!!!, because the sign kind of defaces the property anyway. Some people are more pragmatic and put some kind of decorative barrier around their garden. You can have a simple, low, wrought iron fence, and your problem is solved. Someone else I know puts bamboo sticks all around her flowers. Very pretty, and also sharp.

| A lady used to walk past my house everyday with a big dog and it did a massive poo right out side my gate every time. She never ever picked it up. One day i'd had enough, so went inside, got a bag, picked up the poo, jumped in my car and went after her with it! I handed it to her and said 'i think this belongs to you'. She couldnt believe i had chased her in the car, so i explained she had pushed me just a bit too far, and would she please pick the poo up in future. I havent seen her go past since! (if this kinda makes me sound like a mad woman...i'm not, i'd just had enough!) I pick up every tiny piece of poo that my dogs drop, and even take tissues incase its a 'wet' poo, so i can wipe the ground!
