| Hmmm. Didn't know that. I thought most city's have right-aways that go so many feet from center of road and usually extend beyond the road. I know homeowners have to maintain the area though. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | You were fully within your rights to walk the dog there, and fully within your responsibilities to clean up after your pup. In most places, side walks are owned by the cities or counties, even if they cut through someone's property. Anyone can walk on them. I'm glad you called the police and they were going to go talk to her. Harassment should not be tolerated.

| [QUOTE=BamaFan121s;3199087]She's probably one of those bitter old women who don't change out of their cotton nightgowns and fuzzy slippers all day and sit at home reading Readers Digest, working crossword puzzles and yelling at the contestants on the Price is Right and peeking out the windows at the neighbors. We had a neighbor who would bring his dog over to do his business on our lawn-but the real reason was to peek in the windows (silly old man-nothing to see here-move along)

| Oh man. What a beoytch. I'm in the process of moving and scared to death I will end up with neighbors like that! I always take a 'poop bag' with me cause one of them never fails to poop. I wish I could train them NOT to poop on a walk. Sorry she ruined your day and GLAD you called the Po Po!

| I'm sorry this happened to you. Take comfort in your beautiful babies and forget this mean woman. She was probably taking out her frustration with inconsiderate dog walkers (non-cleaner uppers) on you. Wishing you a peaceful afternoon and evening. |

To the OP I'm glad you called the police...cause now if something happens to another persons dog (cause god knows what she could do-she's nuts!), then it will be on file as the police were once called out to her house for an incident.

Either way, I would suspect the lady has had some issues with owners who don't pick up after their dogs in the past and maybe the OP was just on the receiving end of her anger today. I can't blame anyone for being a bit miffed if they find themselves constantly having to clean up after someone else's dog. Last edited by BamaFan121s; 07-14-2010 at 09:31 AM. | ||

| We live on the edge of a new housing development. Our easements are 10'. Gives them 20' to do what they please in between yards. It's a bit annoying because we won't plant anything in that area since they are allowed to come dig it up whenever they please. People walk their dogs in our area because there is less traffic. No sidewalks yet. I know of several that allow their dogs to poo on the street and don't bother to pick it up. Very annoying. Last year, at school, someone was walking a large dog every morning and allowing it to poo in front of the school. Students were stepping in it and dragging the mess into the school. Principal finally caught who was doing it and it stopped. ~Joanne~

| So sorry your walk was spoiled by a nasty lady. You did the right thing calling the police, she needs to know that kind of behavior will not be tolerated. To bad we can't train people to be kind to each other. Just think how different your morning would have been if she had said, "Thank you for picking up after your dog I wish others would so the same." |

| I live in a suburb turned medium sized city, and we actually do own the sidewalk we even had to hire a city approved company to come and put the sidewalk in and we had to pay for it (we wear reimbursed on our city taxes). I of course never tell people they cannot walk on our sidewalks but we have a problem with kids walking through the yard during the school year and agitating the dogs and we wear told that that was the price we pay for living so close to the school we are not allowed to put a fence up because the neighbors said no and the fence would have to border there property. so just be glad the local police said they would talk to her.
