I live in a suburb turned medium sized city,and we actually do own the sidewalk we even had to hire a city approved company to come and put the sidewalk in and we had to pay for it (we wear reimbursed on our city taxes). I of course never tell people they cannot walk on our sidewalks but we have a problem with kids walking through the yard during the school year and agitating the dogs and we wear told that that was the price we pay for living so close to the school we are not allowed to put a fence up because the neighbors said no and the fence would have to border there property. so just be glad the local police said they would talk to her.
