Gennel, I hope you have noticed that this thread has been visited more than 5000 times already. Please realize that you are not going through this alone. You have a big group of compassionate yorkielovers behind you, and with you. We are with you every step of the way, in spirit. All you gotta do it keep healthy and strong, take care of yourself, so you can keep looking for Cookie. He will be in sitting on your lap in no time, just don't lose hope. Love from Sushi and her mommy. |
I'm not losing hope. Since I put the signs on the main streets we have gotten calls. One lady called about an hr ago and told me she saw a small yorkie in her yard on Monday that has no fence. She totally assumed it was her neighbors yorkie so did not get it :( We got in our car and drove there and walked all those blocks calling out his name but didnt find him. That's what breaks my heart more and more.We also went to that neighbor with the yorkie and nothing. The man and his kids that have yorkies do not live very close by and we dont know them. We just gave him a flyer and he said he understands what we are going through because they have 3 yorkies and they are like kids. I want to scream sometimes this is just chipping away at me. My brother just asked me if I had gotten my turkey yet.Normally I plan everything way in advance. Right now I'm not thinking about Thanksgiving or the holidays coming up. We had plans to go to Miami for Thanksgiving but we have decided that we need to be home in case he's not home yet. I have been well aware of the thought that a hawk ,owl or other bird may have snatched him. I vividly seen in my mind him screaming in pain. But I can't allow myself to accept that maybe thats what happened. If I never see his body then there is no closure for me and I will continue to look. We have about 30 flyers left so I'm being careful where I leave them at. Gen |
Just found out that I could write my story in a local paper that gets delivered free to my area every week. ITs already featured online and if the paper likes your story they will print it and deliver those papers. It took me 4 times to get it published! The page kept disappearing when I hit publish. I had a weird dream last night. I was walking down the street when I saw three small kids walking a small dog on a leash. I walked up to them and said can I see your doggie? I noticed right off it was a small Yorkie and I asked where did you get the doggie at? the middle age girl with the leash said we found him on the street. I said can I see him? and she picked him up and ran in the back door of the house that set on the corner. the little boy went in the house with her these three kids were about 8 or 9 7 and 6. the oldest of them all stood out side she had been holding another animal witch got away and ran under the edge of their house. I could hear a lady talking through the large kitchen window and when I looked up it was a blond headed lady on the phone. I started to go up to the door to ask where they found their little Yorkie at when I woke up. :( and soon as I woke up I thought of Cookie. |
I am so sorry about Cookie............I cant imagine how you feel. I am praying for you all. 1 Cookie is safe and warm and 2 thAt you find him. |

OMG!!!!!! I had a dream so much like this myself. when I woke up my husband said I was sweating and pissed off...... Please come home cookie!!!!!!! |
OMG, this is really weird. I already told Gen in a PM a few days ago that the night before Cookie went missing (Sat night) I dreamt of a teacup poodle I had years ago, which died at the age of three. Im my dreams, she was not dead, she was LOST. I was going crazy, running around on the streets calling her name, begging her to come back to me. When I woke up in the middle of the night my pillow was wet from my tears, and it felt like my heart was flying out of my chest. I went to work on Monday and first thing I saw on YT was Gen's post about Cookie!!! I don't know, it was probably just a coincidence, but when I read the post I got goosebumps all over, it took me all the way back to my horrible nightmare!!!! The thought of losing a furbaby is just too unbearable, and I felt it that night!!!! I'm not trying to be superstitious here, but do you guys think YORKIESHADOW's dream might be a "real" lead? Sorry I think I'm just thinking outloud, and sounding a bit crazy :( I just want Cookie back sooooo bad :( |
I believe in dreams also. They might not be 100% but they can have clues. My husband just got back from the gym a little bit ago. This is the only thing he is able to do to work off his frustration over this. As soon as he walks in I walk up to him and start pounding on his chest because I feel so helpless and hugged him. I dont know why I just fell apart and he just hugged me and said "Im getting something quick to eat and I'm going looking for him, wanna come" He picked up a few flashlights and some squeeky toys. As I'm getting ready to go, I burst into tears and felt that I was goingto pass out . So he just left a few minutes ago. I did eat today so I know it wasnt that. One of the walmart workers saw me this morning and she had this intense look in her eyes like what I was feeling ,she could see it somehow. She heard me asking about who put the flyer. She asked if I was the owner. She told me in a whisper toned voice. " I just feel like he's trying to get to you, running or something" I have this deep feeling. I just stared at her and was like OMG???? I'm checking any online lost and found and any sales of adult yorkies. Gen |
I can tell a little more, but I don't want to get Gen's hopes up on a dream I had that may or may not be any thing.but yet if it does mean some thing I would feel bad in not posting it. so here goes. maybe if shes out walking she can just kind of keep her eyes open for this house. or maybe the ages of the kids is what keeps buggin me , just maybe ask a few teachers with those age groups to ask the kids in their classs. I can say this much in 5 years I have had 7 dreams that were truly real. I knew my son had a son to be 5 year old soon that even he didnt know he had. I could even tell him exactly what he looked like and guessed the age 4. I have also told my kids they were pregnant and with the sex of the child before they even knew they were pregnant. once someone faked a pregnancy and I knew there was no child. and yes I told them . this is about all I remember of that dream. The house was on a corner of a side street on the right side, it was a off dirty white or a light gray. good size house. the section of the house by the back yard stuck out more then the house its self. the kitchen window was high and took almost the full length of that section. right at the right side edge was the back door you had to walk around the corner there on the right to see the door. the back yard was good size. un kept.no fence, on the left side of the house were rocks. large broken stones laid on the ground. the yard was uneven grass patches here and there. 3 small children. the two girls with light hair the boy with darker hair. oldest girl wore a dress 8-9 middle girl age 7with dog on leash, dog had on a collar too , it was a male., boy about 6. mother blond hair. short blond medium built. loud. |
I have been reading all the posts on here everyday and I keep praying when I log on that you have found Cookie:(. Reading about the dreams gave me goosebumps. The one dream seem so vivid right down to the lenth and hair color. I have lit a candle. I do hope when I come back on tomorrow Cookie has been found. You and your family are in my prayers and so is Cookie. |
Me, Jack and my family continue to think of you, Cookie and your family. We are still praying for Cookie's safe return home. |

I totally understand why you didnt want to post this but this cant hurt. The same way that Im calling all numbers that are in my zip code...its a long shot but it's a shot. When I go out tomorrow I will make sure to remember some of the things you said. A lady called me after she saw the street sign. She just had to call to tell us she is praying and she was in awe of the determination we had. She told us that we are going beyond what she has seen people do to get their pet back. My hubby was choked up listening to her. One thing about kids is ....sooner or later they talk. They will talk to their friends or neighbor. I'll try to get some sleep tonight and hit the streets tomorrow. Thank all of you for being here, posting and just being so understanding. Gen |

You know what I dreamed may be nothing at all. It might of came from reading all this thread and then praying & thinking about cookie before I went to sleep. so there may be no house at all. but one thing like you said kids do talk. and the kids in that dream were school age kids. Id be sure to post flyer's at all the schools around. cause like you said kids do talk. and having a reward on the flyer might make kids talk sooner. |
Hey Gen, I hope I did'nt upset you more with what I said about the bird. That is prorbablly NOT what happend. The fact that someone saw a yorkie on Mon gives me hope. Someone may have taken him and then when they saw all the flyers might have let him go. He may be with a spanish speaking family that might not understand your flyers or may be afraid to come forward.Your ordeal has given me an idea.GPS tracking in microchips. Please try to take care of yourself and not let the stress consume you.I just wish I could come down there and help you look for Cookie. Much Love to you. |

They do have GPS collars and I actually considered getting one about 2 yrs ago but didnt. They charge a low monthly fee but you can track your pet within minutes to exact location. The microchip is far from becoming a GPS tracker. I spoke to AVID ID chip customer rep and they told me its just not possible yet... The gps chip is bigger so they cant put that under a dog's skin like the tiny chip thats a size of a grain of rice. I have tons of regret and guilt. I have always been super careful with him especially. Everyone in my house feels they are at fault. My husband says its his fault because he shouldhave been cutting the grass and the dogs would have been inside. My daughter feels guilty because she said she should have let them in sooner. I feel guilty because I was watching them through my kitchen window and stopped for a minute to make myself a sandwhich, then opened the sliding door and my nightmare began at that moment with him missing. I am getting calls from people who found dogs. The word is spreading and even those homes that I didnt leave a flyer but I knocked, they have told me they seen my flyers everywhere and street signs at every main street/intersection. Gen |
are you sure his chip can be read i haven't chipped my dog yet because my area shelters still use very old readers and the hertz dosent match up they know there is a chip but cant read it if this is a possibility then maybe hes sitting at a vet or boarding house just waiting for you i know you have been begging vets to scan but maybe call them back and ask about found dogs |
Quote:
I think he can be scanned and read because I asked my vet to please scan him to make sure. She scanned him and his exact number came up. But I am going to keep calling shelters and going in person. He has an AVID chip. Gen |
just checking in and sending hugs |
Just got back in ...nothing yet. I went to get the paper to see if his ad was published and it was. Cookie's ad was the only one with a picture and I found it in a second. I got out the yellow pages for our county and highlighted every pet clinic within 40 miles of here. There were 20+ more that are 20 miles away or further. I wrote a letter and printed them all out. Got stamps and mailed out to all those clinics that I have not been to. I went personally to all the clinics within 3-20 miles away. I really prefer for to talk to them because once they see me and my desperation they are very eager to help. I did get another call today but it was a yorkie about 14 lbs. My husband went back to work today after taking 4 days off to help search. He already texted me telling me that tomorrow we are going walking all over the neighborhood in the morning and once again at night. I bought 2 squeeky toys so we can take that with us. All the toys we have here are missing the squeeker because our other dog LOVES to chew them. We got a call from a woman this morning who lost her yorkie months ago telling us she did a lot to search for him but finally what worked was that she continued walking the neighborhood in the mornings and evening and found her dog with someone! She has him back. Continue prayers please. Today at 2:00 on the dot I prayed in my car. Someone posted another thread that she wanted to do that so exactly at 2pm I prayed while in my car. My sister called me from NJ and told me NOT to give up. She also told me she had a dream and that he is deffinately is with someone who wants to keep him. She said in her dream it was a young woman and she even took a picture with Cookie and Cookie seems miserable. When she's so sure about stuff like this she is very serious and soooo many times it turns out to be true. So I will continue looking, calling and posting updates. Gen |
Just wanted to let you know I will continue to keep Cookie in my thoughts and prayer's over the weekend. Your determination will bring her home, I know it will. Hugs, |
reading through FOUND pet posts I found this story that brought me to tears but gave me strength to deffinately keep searching Please read this! Yorkie returned after 2 yrs Google Image Result for http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_vfNuI6igaYE/SuH3qNv3b3I/AAAAAAAAAi4/Gid-0Q3rFyQ/s320/GatorYorkie.jpg Gen |

Geh, You've probablly thought of this but in case you have'nt...tomorrow when you are searching stop at every storm drain and yell down inside it. Do it a few times and listen closley.I'm just trying to think of anything that might help. Also the more neighboorhood kids you can talk to the better. Kids can't keep secrets so if someone snatched Cookie and a child knows about it, espicially if they know they will be rewarded, the child will tell you. Also I started another thread asking for a YT group prayer tonight at 9:00. I'm hugging you right now. |
