I just saw this thread on here and immediatly thought of you. You may have alread done this but wanted to make sure you saw it. We are still thinking and praying for Cookie's return.:) http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...ssing-try.html |
Thank you so much for passing this on. We all hurt when we know one of our little ones have been torn away from their family...We pray every day for cookie to return and this proves it CAN HAPPEN. I too look to see the day when I see Cookie is back. God Bless |
Haven't been on in a while, my laptop was stolen in a burglary:mad: My babies were in the house when it happened.. we came home to find them running around the garden. OMG, when I think of what could have happened! Gen my prayers are always with you and Cookie. |
Oh my gosh, how frightening.... I have been so mad for someone stole my husbands new 2007 Ford big fancy danzy truck. He was in LA having lunch , came out with key in hand to find no truck...But it was insured. And now compared to this, it was nothing... if your little ones were hurt or gone... To scary to think about... Glad it was the computer. God Bless, JESSIE |
Hey Gen, I haven't logged on in a while. I'm so sorry to hear you have'nt found little Cookie. :(Don't give up. |
Tomorrow a newspaper article comes out in the paper and Cookie is mentioned. Along with my contact information. I met the Florida Yorkie Rescue Coordinator and she understands too well what I have been going through. She wrote a letter about Cookie to the editor but they wanted to do a story about the Yorkie Rescue. She agreed as long as she could mention Me and my story. Here is a copy: Monday Chat: Palm City woman helps find new homes for Yorkshire terriers TCPalm.com I'll be busy in the morning but I will have my cell phone glued to me since the story comes out tomorrow. I still continue posting and searching. No worries about me stopping, it won't happen. I love that little guy too much to quit now. I'm even making pet accesories like Buttercup beds to sell at an event. They asked me to join since there are NO pet stuff there . I have to try to get out of this debt hole and recoup some money from what I've spent and will continue to spend. So I hope that goes well. Keep us in your prayers. I still feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning and my gift to open will be Cookie. Gen |
Oh, Gen that is an awsome story and I am so glad she included you and Cookie in it... I still feel Cookie will be back with you, wouldn't it be great if you could get a local paper to do a story on you and cookie each month. That way u guys stay in the public eye. I know you have an offer from one of our members offering to help you in this area, take her up on it, she might even get the editors to listen to her and print a larger story on you and cookie. But that is a great story to be featured in.... Sharon, Joey and cabella. |
Oh Gen, What a great story. Levi and I will relight candles today. I will be thinking of you all day in hopes Cookie comes home. Praying and hoping in Mass......Rose and Levi |
Team Cookie....Please relight candles.....Cookie needs our prayers |
One of the important things that we found was an online chip look-up that lets you see if your register is at least active. This company, AKCCAR, is working to add more chip registers to achieve a universal database. There are four registers online through this link, so if you have your little one chipped through any of the four listed at the bottom of their page the phone number of the register should show up. Cookie is with PetTrac which doesn't participate yet, but I know that Genie has his data up to date. Also, if your dog is missing make sure to pay each year to keep the register active or there won't be any way to bring him home if he's finally scanned. Pet Microchip Lookup - Powered by AAHA I try to keep at least one candle lit for Cookie. Richard |
Gen I am soo sorry to hear that you have not found Cookie yet. My thoughts are with you and your family.. I am wondering though and this just made me think of it and not that it would help you now but can't they make like a tracking device that will let you locate your dogs exact whereabouts... Like if I steal someones dog that has this gps locator in it and the owners called the company to locate it, it would show that the dog was at my home..Maybe I watch to much NCIS but it seems like a smart idea to me.. |

No, you don't watch CSI too much, LOL! and this idea is good when you don't have to worry about dishonest people. Areas where a dog might be lost in a wooded or hilly area, out in the country, or a big dog that runs from strangers, is where the GPS locator is great. For a Yorkie that's been stolen or picked up and kept, the first thing they would throw in a dumpster is the collar with the GPS tracker. Not a happy thought when you've invested a few hundred dollars to keep an eye on your dog. There are GPS trackers that are small like the chips and also injected by a vet, but those are running $4000 or more. That's one of the things that I was checking back in December, and I've only seen mention of them in Mexico. The article in TcPalm is great and no doubt Cookie will be famous when he's recovered. The situation is far from hopeless and Genie is strong enough to keep going. :) |
I let my Yorkie out down here in Florida (we are staying with my son) - his backyard is fenced and I still keep checking on him - what scared me last week was a falcon sitting on the fence looking down at his porcupine stuffie toy - reading on here I am so paranoid about him being outside without me AT ALL........I hope someone finds him -are you sure he couldn't have squeezed himself out? If so, somebody should call you - hopefully today..... |
Hi Gen, we are still praying for Cookies return!!! |
praying that this new article throws up the lead that brings cookie home. :hands: |
Please, please do not take this the wrong way. Please dont "look in on them" its not enough and that is exactly how I Cookie went missing. I was close enough to hear if any animal like a hawk would have taken him. I would have heard the screams. I was about 10 feet away from view. I kept checking in on them through my kitchen window. But all it takes is a few minutes for them to slip through a hole. My yard is VERY safe but I still found a small hole. I will NEVER let them out alone again. I go and I literally stand in the middle of the yard when I take them out. My husband also goes and stands out there. The way I see it if they are not leashed then they are not 100% safe. Even though a leash can snap, its still the safest. I let them go out and potty, run and play with them but I am there the entire time. I would NEVER wish this on anyone. I havent had an easy life like many people here I'm sure and I've had ups and downs in my life but this is the WORST painful experience I have ever gone through. We have had to put a dog down but we knew what was happening and had closure to move on. Quote:

All our prayers are with you and Cookie. |
I havn't read this whole thread but I was wondering if you had taken flyers to all the schools around and sent the flyers home with the kids? This is what we do around here. But we only have 2 schools in this county so its pretty easy to do that. It might be too hard if its a big area with alot of schools. |

Hi Gen, This is Linda from Texas. I'm so happy to get an update and know that Cookie's mama is still well, tireless, strong and prayed up! Plus you still have all these intercessors on your friend network, YT. That includes me. Just because you haven't heard from me lately.....doesn't mean I've lost hope that Cookie will be found and reunited with his family. Sometimes when I think of him, I think to myself......I wonder if it will be today. God's time is not our time but His time is always the perfect time. |
Gen, I am also hoping & praying that this article is a stepping stone that brings Cookie back Home to you!! |
Make sure you put flyers near the local schools. Kids always will watch for lost dogs. Good luck and my heart goes out to you. K. |
such a sad story Although I am new to YT when I ran across your story my heart went out to you. I CANNOt imagine what you and your husband are going through. I have a pug and a yorkie(as well as a cat) they are all my babies. It does sound like he went through the small hole you found in your yard. Someone must know something at this point. Since he was only @4lbs, someone scooped him up, and is keeping him. What people don't realize is that he has a loving home, and his family is missing him terribly. I truely hope and pray you get him back. Continue with the flyers, check out the local vets, and shelters.....God Bless |
I just read this thread...I can't imagine the pain you and your family have been going through, there are no words (JUST TEARS)!!!! Just want you to know that I'm another YT that will be sending thoughts your way and hope for a safe return:aimeeyork |
I still keep watching for any good news - I feel so badly for you - I hope, hope, hope you receive information soon that will return your baby to you.... |
Oh trust me everyone. I am not giving up by any means. I still post on craigslist. I get the newspaper and ALWAYS look for yorkies for sale or found. I believe the person that has him DOES know how much I am probably missing him. But they are probably thinking that they love him already and that is what makes someone selfish. No matter what, my promise still stands. I would not press charges for keeping him from me. I just want him back. I just want to get him back and bring my baby home and move on. Could I forgive the person? That is something that I will have to pray for. I know it will probably take me at least 2months or more to relax and not want to have him right in front of me 24/7. His name is a constant remind of him since his name is Cookie. I see the word cookie or hear it several times a day from tv or online. I did groceries and bought 4 boxes of Cookie Crisp ...didnt think about it. When I put the boxes away, I noticed the back of the box that said Cookie , Cookie House! I was like oooh my baby, I miss you everyday. Gen |

One day you will hold your Cookie again. I believe. |
Gen, I still think about you and Cookie. I read through this thread to see if you have posted almost everyday. I saw a new thread "Cookie's home"...and I was like "What???" I got so excited and when I read it, it wasn't you. I was so disappointed... Hang in there. :) |
