I understand that you may have questions...but right now Gen shouldn't have to answer them. Hindsight is always 20/20. I feel that you asking these questions right now may lead to her blaming herself for something and that is not necessary. She is understandably going through enough. She has many supporters here on YT and we are all concerned about Gen and Cookie's safe return. If it were my dog, I would be doing exactly what Gen is doing. Do you really think the police are going to sit and wait for the girl to walk the dog? Do you think they can really get a search warrant to search her house? Really, what harm can be done if Gen just goes to see if its her dog? Honestly, I've never felt the need to post a response such as this one until now. It really bothers me that you would ask or say these things when what Gen needs right now is positive thoughts and support. Gen... I wish you the best of luck today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that its Cookie! Please continue to keep us updated. |
Cookie thank you very much. I really appreciate that. I am continually praying for you and checking daily for updates. I really hope that is your baby!!! |
Gen, Reading your updates make me tears, my lips and hands trembling, I want Cookie to be home badly, I've been following this post since the beginning. I really hope it's him. My best wishes.. with loves |
oh, i pray that this is cookie... i actually can't imagine anyone wanting a reward, lol. it would be so awesome to just return the dogs to their owners. that would be wild if the little girl did pick him up, that would be a little like the one YTer's dream about kids having him. :) i think it was totally relevant noticing the race in this instance.. especially if it's not the dominant race for that neighborhood... that would totally make the connection that it may be the same house, and family. and i applaud all the wonderful yorkietalkers who give positive support and love in situations like this. we'd all want the same if it were our babies who were missing. |
this sounds very promising! |
I will keep my fingers and toes crossed that this is him!! Keeping the little guy and your family in my thoughts and prayers.. ((hugs)) |

In any event, I hope Cookie is found. |
Sorry Dennis if this upset you... Maybe you can understand this post. Quote:
I've known what goes on in the streets for about 26 years. Our society today is not like it was 20 years ago and people are scared. You don't know what someone might have in their homes and to take unnecessary risks under any circumstance is dangerous. With all the stories on the news from Florida, everyone is scared. Missing children and what people are capable of doing to their own families is horrible. The only reason I posted was because depending on the department in the city, the human society works out of police department. They are scanned when any animal is pick up and returned straight to the owners. I didn't want her to take matters into her own hands because if any harm comes from trying to remove Cookie from her and she hurt, Gen will have other legal problems to deal with. Sorry I upset you but if you've experienced what I've seen maybe you would be looking at this situation in a different light. I won't be on today... off to Chemo. Hope Cookie is returned safe and it's a good outcome. Kathleen... Mom to My Little Girls: Punken Pie and Breese Be Be |
Gen, will continue to keep you and Cookie in my thoughts and prayer's today. Finger's crossed the Yorkie in question is your baby. I wouldn't do a thing until I knew for sure this was Cookie. Don't jebordize any chance of getting her back. I would stay out of site in case they are on to you after getting one of your flyer's. You want that child to walk the Yorkie so you can get a good look at it. If they see you hanging around they won't take her out so be descreet, very descreet. Good luck to you. |

I honestly don't think she is just going to go up and snatch the dog not knowing if it is Cookie. If it is Cookie then I say TAKE HIM BACK!!!!! I know exactly what I would do in this sitution. If I saw someone walking MY dog. It is very obvious if it is Cookie than these people have NOT been trying to find the owner, and what I have heard about her posters and such, I don't think it would be hard to find her and give him back. They have no intention on giving him back. They just found a beautiful little doggie!! I honestly don't know how she has the patience to wait it out. I give her credit. I would be sitting in my car a few houses away. Please let this be Cookie and he is returned to her. This is my Christmas wish. Can't wait to come on and see good news. Everyone please stay positive and don't judge. Say a prayer and let it alone. |

No, no I didn't mean your judging. I was referring to the "race" thing. I absolutely understand what you are saying. I agree I don't want to see her hurt also. She should definitely go with someone. I really don't know how busy their police dept. is. But I don't think that if she sees this kid with the dog, then calls police, God knows how long they would take to get there, and the opportunity might be gone. |
This will be my last post on this topic and then I will get back to what we all should be doing...supporting Gen. A few months ago a lady was found living in the backyard of a man that kidnapped her in 91. Her name is Jaycee Duggard.Over the years the cops were called to the home several times to investigate someone living in the backyard and found nothing strange. Well hello Captain Obvious! I would only call the cops AFTER I was sure I knew who had Cookie. |
I quit coming to this site 4 years ago because of the crazy women who seem to have nothing to do but become instigators. STOP IT! Grow up and just be a supportive person. If you don't like what was said-skip it. Why do you feel you must spew everything that comes into your brain. Be helpful not hurtful. Please think about what you are saying before you say it. Anyone can read Gen's posts and tell she was not being racial or hateful--they was no mal intent--quit trying to make something it's not. If you need drama in your life go watch reality TV. This poor woman has enough to deal with without trying to justify her words right now. No need for offenders to reply to this email-I quit again and have learned my lesson. So sorry things haven't changed. |
I really hope and pray that Cookie is found today. |

Gen, I feel your pain and from what I've read you've done everything you could possibly do to bring Cookie back home to you and I pray you succeed but, please do not do anything that could risk harm to you!;) The last thing you need is to be shot by someone protecting what may actually be their dog or worse yet...a charge of dog-theft...not worth the risk in my book. Will be thinking positive thoughts for Cookie's safe return to your loving arms!:animal36  Jo Ann |

Sure hoping it's Cookie!! Prayers!!! |
I have read all the posts here. There are hundreds of replies. I never expected for everyone to have the same opinion or not to question me. Like I said before some people will argue or tell you what you are doing is wrong. But when it comes down to it, people care here in YT and I will continue to say that. I do not want to call cops without at least seeing this dog in the street being walked. I know my dog a block away. I am NOT going alone. My husband is a big,big bodybuilder guy and he is going. I am also putting it in my head that it may not be him and it's a coincidence that this girl just happen to get an adult tiny yorkie within the past week. It is excruciating to imagine that your baby is super close by but you have to wait and be patient. I literally slept 3 hrs, went to bed at 3 am with a migraine and woke up at 6 am Unless you have been on this horrible rollercoaster ride, could you possible understand. The cops will be called, trust me but I cant cry wolf saying that I think this is it.Then maybe it's not . Then if I really have concrete proof the cops will not be too eager to help. I will continue updating. I dont want this thread shut down. You guys don't understand how I need to come back here every few hrs to get support and be around people who understand that these little animals are like kids to us. Thank you, Gen |
I'm checking every hour or so waiting to hear your good news. Positive vibes going out to you. |
You have not left my thoughts or prayers... ((huggs)) ~Denise |
Whew! What a rollercoaster of emotions! I am sure you will know your dog if you see him. And if it's a child walking him, I wouldn't hesitate to approach the child and demand him back. Children are usually more honest than adults, and if this child knows the dog was "found" instead of bought, she might be likely to hand him over if you say he's yours. There is really no ideal way to handle this situation. The police will not get involved if they don't know these people have your dog, and the only way for you to know is to see him. If you exercise restraint after actually seeing your dog in the possession of someone else, and wait until you can get police there, I will be amazed. I know I wouldn't have the strength. Prayers for you to get your baby back. And I know you'll keep us updated. |
