Good luck today...still thinking about you and Cookie.

Just came back.Like I mentioned to Gail today I forced myself to go out and buy a turkey for thanksgiving. I walked those isles like a zombie.I even taped a flyer to each side of my shopping cart. I am insane. I made sure to remove it before I left. I asked customer service if I could ask a manager to please tape this at their entrance. The lady told me they don't allow it but to go ahead and post them all over their parking lot trees that are near each stop sign. I went ahead and bought a box of tacks and tacked them on to each tree by each stop sign. You cant miss the sign,where ever you turn you can see a flyer about 6-8 ft away. If my baby is not home by Thanksgiving , I will sneak out in the afternoon when most stores are closed and post flyers all over their parking area trees.

I ran into one of my daughter's friend mom and I dont think she realized that what she told me hurt so bad. She asked if I found Cookie and I said no. She said if I thought someone took him,maybe he sneaked out, or a hawk got him? She said they see my street signs everywhere and she said her kids asked " I wonder how much is the BIG REWARD??" SO she asked me .
I told her that I didnt post an amount because I didnt want scammers calling me.Also that some people here have donated and helped tremendously in the search. I just told its a few hundred dollars.
She tells me and this is the part that killed me " Well I'll paint my dog and give it to you for the reward"
The truth is there is like $70 left from donations and I am stretching that to the max also Gail went above and beyond getting funds to me from Canada. I am waiting to see if I can do something Bigger to get the word out even more so I can put the money into that.

I told my daughter's friend mom "I know that sometimes pets can be stubborn and stuff but you can only understand how painful this is until your dog is missing or dies in front of your eyes" I dont think some people truly understand why people are willing to pay thousands of dollars for a reward to get their pet back?
If I had $50,000 I would pay in a blink of an eye.But I dont.
I had a breeder contact me and let me know that if I ever want to get another dog to let me know because she knows that no dog could replace him but it helps. I told her that not even 10 dogs could replace him. You cant replace a child.

I was hoping for better news today, but still not giving up the faith that you will find Cookie. I continue to say prayers for you and your family and continue to pray that Cookie makes it home safe and soon!

I really admire all the effort that you are putting forth to find Cookie. I hope that you are rewarded for it, and he comes home soon. Sending continued prayers your way.

That lady must not own any pets...they usually don't understand that they are our children and we would do ANYTHING for them. That was a really cruel thing for her to say. I just wanted to let you know that you and Cookie are in our thoughts and prayers.

People can be thoughtless, and I can't believe this woman has a dog. I don't know maybe she thought she was showing her concern for your loss?. Maybe she thought she was being funny? Hard to fathom what her motives were.

I was hoping for better news, and I am sorry that some people open their mouth and speak before thinking! Your efforts in trying to locate cookie show your love and that is far more worth than money.
It touches me everytime I read your post about cookie and it just breaks my heart bc I honestly dont know what I would do. I wish that I could find cookie for you, I feel so helpless. I pray for you all throughout the day and I am praying for Cookies return!! big hugs~

What about letting the post office know as well. THe carriers in your area could keep an eye out.

I actually stopped two mail carriers and told them and gave them the flyer. One carrier told me " I saw your flyer in the post office" I didnt post it in the post office because they dont allow it, obviously some kind hearted employee did this.

I wouldn't listen to any negativity. You are going above and beyond for your little fur-child which is what most of us on here would do. If I was a lost yorkie I'd want someone looking for me as hard as you are looking. Good luck and I hope Cookie is back by Thanksgiving enjoying some turkey with you:D

I would hound the TV stations as well. Bug the heck out of them and really play the "he's sick" part as well as Thanksgiving coming....

I had found out about Cookie thru the MT site that I am on as well and your story is so very heartbreaking:mad:, and I know that he is out there somewhere in someones home I admire what you have done to find him, I don;t know if I would have it in me to do what you have, but I have not gone thru what you have. I will continue to keep praying for Cookie to come home, I beleive that dogs know there homes and if he has a chance to find you he will. I have heard stories about pets getting lost hundreds of miles from their home and they came home. I have faith that God will sent him to you or you will find him. I will keep checking on you, if I where closer I would come and help you search door to door. All I can do is keep praying for Cookie and your family.

Please God if you hear all of our prayers here Please get Cookie home.

I'v been away from my computer since Sat so was hoping for good news.Try to ignore what your daughters friend said,she sounds like an idiot. About a year and a half ago my wife and I had to put our terrier mutt Buddy to sleep.He was 23!We were obviously upst and crying a lot.One of my father-in-laws friends made the comment,"Get over it.It was just a dog." My wife slapped the snot out of him.He looked stunned and my wife said,"You're lucky I did'nt kick you in the #$*&! He did'nt understand that to us Buddy was our child.I really believe SOMEONE that lives near you has him and that youWILL find him.

sometimes people make goofy jokes when they don't know what else to say. it wasn't appropriate at all.

this reminds me of the sweet stories in the Bible about the woman who turned her house upside down looking for her lost coin, and the shepherd who went out to look for the one sheep when he had 99 others in the barn. your love for your cookie is a special thing. i think the Lord knows and understands your pain, and is listening.

My prayers are with you. It's sooo hard to lose a pet. And some people just don't understand how hard it is.

Gen, I hope you will take this as the kindly advice that I am intending it to be....

PLEASE try to take a little time for yourself and forget about this whole situation for a few hours. YOU ARE ENDANGERING YOUR HEALTH. The stress you are putting yourself through is more than one person can take for an extended period of time.

You have done all you can do for now. It is in the hands of your community now, to bring Cookie back to you. And I really believe that they will. Just give it some time to play out. The fact that everyone you encounter seems to know about Cookie's situation proves that you have done your job.

Please take care of yourself.

I've been thinking about your baby this week. I told my friend who lives up in that area (Fort Pierce), she has a little YorkiChi so she instantly understood and she will spread the word to her friends/family.
