I just wish I knew if someone had him or if he was snatched by a hawk. Even finding any remains will allow me to mourn him and that will bring some closure. I am going to go again and check the shelters. I have not heard good things about the Animal Control located in Ft Pierce which is for Port Saint Lucie and Ft Pierce area. Gen |
Gen - I was just checking in for updates and sad to hear that you haven't found Cookie yet. Still sending up prayers for you, your family and Cookie. |

1 Attachment(s) Thank you guys. Today I've been really, really down. I guess when it rains, it pours. Today my husband's truck did not start. A friend towed it and another bill for us  I called Animal Control today and went but it was closed. I went to Humane Society and I HATE doing that walk through. I feel like " Dead Man Walking" I see all those dogs and its just sad. I seen a bunch of small ones and it was COLD in there. They have them in seperate gated rooms with a doorway outside. Well today it was cold in PSL so the small ones were just sitting shivering looking up at me. There was a shi-tzu shaking soooo bad. A litter of puppies maybe 5 wks old all on a small cardboard. I'm like geeze at least put a big towel for them. Nothing but a hard cold floor. My husband has been the most supportive and amazing man with me through all of this. He's just afraid when I go out because he says my mind is just not thinking straight. I know he's right. Today he stared at me and asked " Tell me,tell me what you are thinking" I just replied " I'm not ok and I'm never going to be ok with this" I can't stay in this limbo like this. Today I looked along the streets, all along the interstate in a way hoping that I would find his little body somewhere. Through my search on craiglist I also look at other dogs and look through shelters online pictures. I emailed a lady because she sounded as desperate as I am. She lost her chihuahua a few days ago and she was miserable for Thanksgiving. She emailed me back and said NEVER GIVE UP. Her husband was out putting flyers up today and a guy in a truck pulled over and told him " I have your dog right here" he couldnt believe it but sure enough it was their chihuahua! It had been with that family for several days. I'm hanging in there, I continue to pray for my little guy. I am waiting for "that call" You guys will be the very first people to get the news. Gen |
Awww Gen... (((((huggggssss))))) You remain in our thoughts and prayers :hands: |

The "not knowing" is the worst feeling ever. I wish I were closer, I want to help bring Cookie home. |
For the soul of every living thing is in the hand of God. Job 12:10 Praying for Cookie's return and remembering that wherever he is, God is with him. |
Hi Gen, my prayers are with you and your little fellow. I pray that Cookie is safe in somebody's house and they are looking for you too. I pray that they can't rest until his owner is found. And I pray God's peace will wash over you and your husband. I'm new to the board and I saw your story. My heart aches for you but I have great faith...you keep the faith too. |
Still keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. He has to come home, he just has too!! |
Gen, I just want you to know that I'm still thinking and praying for you. If there's anything else I can do, let me know. More phone calls or anything else!! |
Gen, me and my kids are still praying and hoping Cookie comes home soon. I can't imagine how you are coping. I wish we could come down and help look. Cindy |
we are all continuing to pray for Cookies return. i really wish we could come over to help you search :( |
I keep checking this site 2 to 3 times a day hoping to see good news. Keep the positive thoughts good things will happen. It my have already been brought up but have you ever thought of talking to a phsycic? I have heard of other people using them with good results. Just a thought. My prayers are with you all and hoping to see good news soon. |
My daughter's cat got out when she was living in Or. and was never found. Till this day she is able to cope with it believing that the college kids housed down the street found him hanging around, took him in, and now he is living the happy college life-hanging out drinking beer and eating pizza. Keep the faith. |
Gen, You are welcome. I have not personally used the site, however a family member who has his own business just had a bunch of things printed via the site - which is how I learned of it. I did see his business cards after they were printed and they appeared to be of very good quality. I have my own business and generally print things "in house" however he told me of the site as a potential resource when I need marketing docs done... I thought it may be useful for you as well. It is "for real"... The 'doorhangers' would be an interesting tool for you to use Best of luck in the search, I hope Cookie is home soon! Susanne Quote:

We got a call this morning around 9:30 ...the usual " Did you lose a yorkie?" My husband says yes. This yorkie is around 8 lbs! So its not Cookie plus this yorkie is not neutered. I asked my husband for the phone. The part that bothered me is that the lady said she is keeping him because she's had him for a week! I told her " Let me just tell you about me searching for my dog, I am devastated,I go out every day searching. Every vet or or emergency hospital has our flyer" I'm sure that yorkie's owner wants him back desperately. She said she walked the dog on the neighborhood and he didnt seem to walk to anyone's house. I told her that if my dog would be walked he would not walk to my house because he rarely got walked because of his small size. I told her to PLEASE take him to any vet and have him scanned. To post a FREE ad in the lost and found in a local paper. Then and only then should she consider keeping this Yorkie. She told me she called shelters in this area and they asked her if he was 4 lbs. So I know they are talking about my Cookie. I hope this other yorkie makes it home also. I would never keep a stray dog no matter how cute. I experienced that a few months ago. I drove into our driveway and when I opened my car door a dog leaped on my lap licking me all over. I freaked out because I thought it was a pitt but it wasnt. She ran into my house and I feared the worst. She was the most playful dog.My hubby fell in love with her and wanted to keep her. I posted her on Craiglist and I got an email in a few hrs. I wanted to know every detail about this dog and the owner said everything right. She said her boyfriend has been sleeping on the sofa hoping his dog would be scratching at the door . There was a reward offered. I didnt ask for it , no way. That reunion was really something. That guy dropped to his knees on my grass and his dog ran to him. That dog was 12 miles from home. Gen |
i hope cookie's foud asap xxx |

I have been a longtime lurker on this forum but I just had to register when I read about the loss of your baby and the sheer amount of commitment and effort into finding her, showing you have true love and compassion for your dog. However, it greatly sounds like to me, that someone has seen her wandering around on her own on the street, and decided to welcome her to their home. You may think that this is a horrible thing to do, however she is probably being treated in the same loving way as you did, and although at the moment she might be struggling a little to adjust, in time she will love her new home as much as her old one. I know your thinking whoever took her in (if that is the case) should have reported her to the authorities or contacted yourself. But they may have been through great troubles in their life, and seen this little angel as a blessing from God upon theirselfs. I sincerely hope you do find your baby as by reading through your posts its obvious you love her very much. But if much more time passes, you have to move on, not just for yourself, but for your families sake (and even cookies as she would want you to) and think of her being in a good new home with a family who loves her as much as yours did. Or if the worst did happen, the best possible place any dog or even human could be looking down on you. |

I had my husband call them back the lady told him that her husband was now driving around looking for him because he bolted out their front door. I dont know if she was lieing or telling the truth. She described the dog again to my husband and it really doesnt seem like cookie. She said it had a collar/no name. Larger yorkie, very playful... She told him she would call him back if they got him again so I can confirm. What are the chances of this happening??? I dont know! My hubby knows I dont give up that easily. If you google someone's number , their address shows up. They are over 12 miles from where I live. I do plan to pass by and start knocking door to door just to see if I hear his bark. The Humane Society was open for emergencies only but the officer there opened the door. The secretary didnt seem thrilled that I was there because she knew exactly who I was. I've been there several times and will continue going at least every 3 days. She said I have your flyer here...started looking for it in a big binder they have and she couldnt find it right away. I left...got a flyer from my car and rang their bell again. The guy looked at my flyer and just said awww he's a little guy. He just told me chances are someone has him, wants to keep him until one of two things happens #1 the dog does something wrong and they get tired of him and they call animal control and turn him in or #2 He gets sick and they will take him to a vet and say they found this sick dog. He said there was a call either this morning or yesterday asking about a lost little male yorkie. I said that is probably people I know from here helping me search! Gen |
