| Okay, I have a really dumb question... If ALL the pups (I don't want to look) look sick, why wouldn't a rescue, ASPC or Animal Control step in? I mean, that's what they do right?

| I wondered that too, how these puppy mills get away with it, but then again we have them here in the UK, we call them puppy farms, and I don't know why they aren't all closed down either. A very good question.

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | No, I don't think you can take away someone's dogs because they look sick, you have to prove that they are breaking state laws, and this isn't easy. We value freedom so much in the US, and you have to have some sort of proof of something before you can even get a search warrant. Not only that, many states have such lax laws that it's fairly easy to pass, that's why it's important to pass stricter laws regarding kennel conditions, and puppy lemon laws.

| Oh my goodness... that is terrible! See, I'm so naive that I believe it should happen like on animal cops, if the pups look sick or abused they confront the owners and give them a chance to get the medical attention necessary and if they don't do what's right, they take um! As I type this that song is playing in my head "Bad Boys Bad Boys, whacha gonna do when they come for you, Bad Boys...lol Okay, I'm all about getting the laws changed... Where do we go from here?

I was naive, about the gasing part of it. It is beyond words how bad that is.

| I'm happy to hear that another horrible puppy mill is going down! Just wish the B#$@! would catch a few felony charges too. I can't stand a puppy miller or a BYB! It angers me so much that our county allows animals to be abused and they just look the other way. Incase your following this thread and want to stop the gas chambers. YorkieShadow has kindly posted a thread with a petition that needs your signature to help ban these horror traps in our county! Please, speak out and add your signature!!! Thank you YorkieShadow!!!

| It breaks my heart to know that my Oliver spent at least the first year of his life in a place just like this. He was in someone's garage, there were cages up the ceiling. I don't know when his birthday is, but we will forever celebrate March 28th as his rebirth - the day he came home with me!Being a rescue owner, I'd sure like to know how ALL of the rescues can be listed as "loves kids and all other animals." Anyone with any experience with rescues knows that they pretty much always have some issues with people and animals. Sometimes you get lucky. Ollie LOVES animals, but isn't a big fan of people. Mostly men, but even a lot of women he tends to shy away from. I just don't understand how someone could DO this sort of thing to animals... From the sounds of it they aren't shutting down, just moving. I really hope they are shut down one day soon and that all those poor babies are given a chance at LIFE. As I look at my baby boy who is currently napping by the fireplace my heart breaks with the knowledge the millions of others are currently shivering in cages...

Any of us that have been involved with rescue will not place them with children under 10 years of age and when you look at petfinder I almost never see they will adopt to a home with children. It used to be on the AKC website that Yorkies are not the perfect family dog. Most rescues might consider a child but only for a larger Yorkie. Many of the rescues I got in were from private homes and were not beaten etc but were given up because they could not be potty trained and because the family was to busy for them. I have had some come from breeders that were scared to death of humans.
