[QUOTE=jenn1381;2844692]It breaks my heart to know that my Oliver spent at least the first year of his life in a place just like this. He was in someone's garage, there were cages up the ceiling. I don't know when his birthday is, but we will forever celebrate March 28th as his rebirth - the day he came home with me!

Being a rescue owner, I'd sure like to know how ALL of the rescues can be listed as "loves kids and all other animals." Anyone with any experience with rescues knows that they pretty much always have some issues with people and animals. Sometimes you get lucky. Ollie LOVES animals, but isn't a big fan of people. Mostly men, but even a lot of women he tends to shy away from.

Good for you....

Rarely have I seen a Yorkie rescue say "loves kids" and in fact it is a sore subject on YT. Any of us that have been involved with rescue will not place them with children under 10 years of age and when you look at petfinder I almost never see they will adopt to a home with children. It used to be on the AKC website that Yorkies are not the perfect family dog. Most rescues might consider a child but only for a larger Yorkie.

Many of the rescues I got in were from private homes and were not beaten etc but were given up because they could not be potty trained and because the family was to busy for them.

I have had some come from breeders that were scared to death of humans.
