| When I walk my babies, I allow them to potty near the road but I do not allow them to go like in the center of the yard. I just think that is a matter of respect but that is MHO. I live in a large neighborhood and tons of dog are walked (just as they should be) but I have never (to my knowledge) had one walk up INTO my yard, just by the road. I have though went out and found LARGE piles of #2 in my yard and that angers me because I have children that could step in it BUT I think that comes from the 2 houses in my 500 house 'hood that just allow their dogs to run free! I live in a no leash county which is a little un-nerving as I think "Don't these dog owners have respect and what if their animal was to bite someone orrrrrrrrr come across someone mean and get poisoned or stolen etc." That is neither here nor there in this post but I say edge is fine (the state owns that in ALL our yards) but beyond that is a touchy subject for a lot of people.

| I don't let my dog pee on my own lawn! She has a fenced rock area for her potty that gets rinsed daily. I have kids that run and roll in the grass and though my puppy is a sweety, it is still urine. That said, it is awkward when someone actually complains I imagine. I wouldn't like it on my front yard, though I would never say anything. If it bothers someone they can always put up a picket fence and keep everything off their grass. I guess dogs should pee at home before their walks. Mine gets walked in a stroller and doesn't have the opportunity to pee on someones lawn... |

He also has a very nasty habit of bringing his "kill" to my yard to eat -- this might be a rabbit carcass or a bunch of tin cans from someone's garbage (he literally chews these up!) and once it was half a deer carcass that I think a hunter may have rudely discarded in the woods. I called the owner about the tin cans and she just laughed and said yes, he chews on cans (no offer to pick up all the cans scattered in my front yard!) and I called her again about the deer carcass. She said no way did her dog kill a deer, which I agreed but said he did drag it in my yard. Again, no offer to get rid of it. Half of my yard cleanup is from their dog. There are definately some drawbacks to living out in the country -- but it should not be like this if everyone would just keep their own pets in their own yards, unless they are with them.

| The cat poop is not the only problem, it is also their urine. It can smell really bad and they will most always go in the same place. Also if they are male they spray a lot to mark their territory. My poor mom has bushes in the front of her windows and the neighbor's cat kept coming over to use her bushes for his bathroom. She was not happy and finally put up a little wire fence around the base to discourage him and keep him out. |

| l can respect him for not wanting poop on his grass; but its how he said it, with complete rudeness. I mean you would have cleaned it up. There was a time l had to ask my neighbor to pick up his dogs poop. Of course l was not rude. I don't like for Rockie to walk on everyones grass at all. He might run into fleas or something.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | [QUOTE=FlDebra;2754785]You are my hero -- I have had daydreams of doing that myself but have never had the guts to do it. Our biggest offender is a huge golden that lives behind us. It is the same as you described, they let him out and he immediately comes to our yard to do his morning business. Sometimes other times of day too but every morning like clockwork. I probbaly won't dish up his piles to their drive but it is very tempting! I'll have to strongely agree with you here...Going on summer #3, I was literally plotting how I would make my point clear to the neighbors. I decided, when the neighbors were all outside cooking on the grill or just sitting around, I would take all 3 of my dogs over to their side to do there business, say hello and walk off...LOL! I explained this to my husband, as we watched out our back window while the neighbor was walking his dog into our backyard to go to the bathroom...let's just say, I convinced my hubby to go outside and let them know they shouldn't do that anymore....I guess, my numerous requests weren't as effective as the big man's one request...lol

| I hate to say it, but I can understand why that guy didn't want his lawn used as a toilet. Lucy occasionally pees on my Dad's (perfectly manicured) lawn - and the urine 'burns' the grass and leaves brown patches. Definitely not appreciated!

| Well I don't know how I can get mine to stop peeing. I will take them in my yard before we go for a walk, and they will go but as soon as we start walking both of mine (and I have a boy & a girl) will pee to mark everyplace we go I pick up any poop but I don't know how to stop them from peeing?? Ivy marks as much as Max, other then never taking them for a walk I guess they will pee. Do others with girls mark like mine does??
