| She's home!! Sadie is finally here. She's asleep on our floor right now. She's the cutest thing in the world. She is alert and healthy looking. i did notice her gums were a tad bit white so i'll be getting some nutrical this morning at the vets when i go. she doesn't seem sick, so i don't need to worry about it do i?? also, she makes this little sound like a whine under her breath, kinda like wheezy, but it doesn't sound like a cough it sounds like she's whining without using her voice...is that normal?? she's doing well, already chased us around the yard and she's napping on our floor. very cute i have pictures Linda gave her to us and said to call her if the vet here says anything i'm not happy with. she'll take her back today if we're not happy with her. i just don't think i'm going to be sending this baby back anytime soon. anyways let me know about the slightly white gums and the wheezy sound. thanks again, |

| I'm no expert and I'm sure someone will have better answer for you, but when the first day I got Jackson his gums were NOT white and I'm pretty sure that's not a good thing. Also, never heard any wheezing? That's probably not good, either. I would take her to a vet first thing. But, congrats on your little girl! I hope everything is okay with her.

| Congratulations of the arrival of your long-awaited baby. She is adorable. I would take her to the vet today for a check-up. That is standard procedure. Not that you expect anything to be wrong with her, it is just a good precautionary measure and most breeders require you do this. As far as the white gums and wheezing goes, that is NOT normal and with a puppy as young as yours is, it could turn into an emergency quickly, so please take her now before things go very wrong and get very expensive. Good luck with it, but please, get her to the vet today.

| Congratulations on you baby girl. I am happy your going right to the vet. White gums are not good. Don't want to frighten you but glad your going to the vet first thing. Will watch for an update. Nutrical is great the sooner the better. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I just googled it: I found this for you: Ask the Veterinarian: puppy with white gums, white gums, skin and bones http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...8200059AAaraLe The vet will help, whatever the problem might be. Good luck!

| For your reference I have almost 6 weeks old puppies that are followed closely by their vet. I just looked at their gums and they DO NOT have white gums nor do they or have they ever wheezed at all. I know with kennel cough at first they can still be active and happy and in pupppies it may not seem like a cough more like asthma. Your best bet is to get her into a vet immediately. I would watch her like a hawk for quite awhile. She may also just be totally stressed from leaving her home way too soon. Good Luck!

| Congrats on your precious baby girl! I've been following along with a lot of posts you've posted as I'm a newbie to the Yorkie community myself and learned so much from the questions you've asked. We've had our Karlee for a week already and she's fit right into our family right off, as I'm sure your sweet Sadie already is for you too! I hope and pray everything goes great at the vet I don't know anything about the white gums but your vet can tell you everything and please keep us posted. Can't wait to see more photos of your lil' miss Sadie she is a cute baby! Again Congrats!

| Shes a cutie! Im glad your going to the vet because the wheezing and white gums dont sound good. She could have kennel cough which is common with pups or something else. Best to have her checked right away anyway

| Also I don't know the sound your explaining but Karlee did'nt bark or make any noise for almost 2 days it scared me but I think she was just being quite and learning about us first. Now she will let us know things she likes and does'nt we found out this week I decided to let her sleep in our spare bathroom so she would have more room I felt sorry for her in a small playpen and with a crate (she learned quickly to jump out of the playpen even without the crate in there to climb on the climb out she can still jump out of the playpen with nothing in there LOL) so she got upset at us for putting her in the bathroom that night she cried (sounded just like a chicken noise not a dog noise very unusual sound for us to hear =) so we had to put her back in the crate and sit her by our bed she is fine if she can see me then she will go back to sleep and she loves her crate!) So its very true about how they like small cave like places to sleep I guess Karlee felt overwelmed in a big bathroom with no one around her. So if your Sadie does'nt sound like wheezing maybe she is whining, it sounds very odd the way our Karlee whined that night in the bathroom not like what I've heard from other breeds of dogs. I even asked my cousin who has a Yorkie about the sound and she explained the same noise as what Karlee was doing so I found out its perfectly normal) Hope this helps and please keep us posted on your vet visit.

| Toy breed puppies that young are at a great risk for hypoglycemia. You need to have Nutrical on hand, but remember, it's only if her sugar drops too low. Eating frequently is very important. I know you made raw for her, but she also needs carbohydrates to stabilize her blood sugar. Here is a must read article on hypoglycemia: Toy Breed Hypoglycemia Your husband works a different schedule than you do, right? So someone will be with her most of the time for next month or so? The risk of hypoglycemia is greatest in the first three months. To answer your other question, no, wheezing is not normal. With the weekend coming up, I would make sure you take her to the vet today for a complete check up. It can save you a huge vet bill in a few days as little things with puppies that young can turn into major emergencies requiring hospitalization quickly. |

| rachel, Congratulations on your new baby.. Light gums can also mean worms, not just hypoglycemia and the wheezing sound could be that she aspirated milk or something into her lungs causing pneumonia. Please take her to the vet right away. neither of these is a good sign. good luck with your baby girl. |
