| I just feel so guilty leaving her in a crate. I actually just gave her crate away. We had been leaving her in the bathroom, but she would make a poopy mess from anxiety of me leaving. She really is my little shadow, and I feel like a horrible mommy leaving her locked up. |

| Aww Maddy girl, we are sorry you are in trouble. Being scared and trouble is no fun ![]() I am sure once your DH calms down then he will realize that the stuff can be repaired and be lucky that Maddy wasn't hurt.

| For Maddy's safety she should be kenneled while you are out, 11 months is too young to have full run of the house. Why risk anything being ruined or her being hurt. We once had a hamster, who in reality isn't much smaller than some of our tiny babies, he escape and chew through the cord to my daughters cd player, he electrocuted himself and died. As well, who has the money to replace things... I know I would be upset and I am not into electronics at all. JMHO!

| Awww....poor baby! I understand that your hubby was understandably upset but he probably scared her so badly when he threw the flashlight and kicked the couch that she was traumatized! Yorkies are so strange in a way. They are totally fearless of some things they SHOULD be afraid of and yet can be traumatized by the littlest things! My Sassy will charge a Rottie with no fear but she is traumatized by a plastic bag rattling! One day she was literally shaking uncontrollably and it took me forever to realize why. I had a little plastic shopping bag hanging on a doorknob and the fan was blowing on it and made it rattle and she was totally freaking out! LOL! Go figure. I know it sounds cruel to crate them but it really is safer for them and I think they actually find security in it when once get used to it. I hope your hubby forgives her soon and I hope she isnt afraid of him now. Hopefully this will all blow over for you soon. You are not alone, I think most of us go thru this at one time or another. Best of luck to you and your furbaby.

| My Doodlebug chewed through my laptop cord when he was really little and I was sitting right there. Just be glad that she was not hurt and take it as a learning experience for when you have children. Imagine how upset your husband would have been if he would have found a PB&J sandwich in a VCR Yeap, way back when they were considered high end electronic my nephew pulled that little trick. PB does NOT come out of the little tracks ![]() You could try an Xpen instead of a crate. You can even buy extra sections to make it larger. Really they pretty much just sleep when we leave them.........unless they are chewing on your electronics

| I have a certain area where everything is hooked up, the larged screened tv, surround , DVD player , all are good stuff , in the family room , is right there. Our little puppy kept squeezing back there into the corner Even though their is a end table , she still would keep going back over there. I finally placed a baby gate accross the area blocking her completely out of there . It worked. Little rascal cannot go back inside there. Otherwise, she would no doubt eventually do the same thing Maddy would have done . When Suzi was a puppy she did chew through my laptop cord . Costing me a $100 replace , it . Suzi was fine. Cords can be replaced, dogs cant' . DH, may have lost his temper , and frightend maddy badly. Suzi becomes scared easily like this too.

| "Maddy I'm sorry you are in trouble. I've chewed two of my mommy's cords to her old and new cell phone, and her ear bud." Thank goodness she hasn't chewed any "live wires". I've never caught her and haven't been able to discipline her. I hope she outgrows this one. Dion

Chance chewed the cord on my laptop about 5 months ago, I took her to the vet for x-rays to make sure there was no wire in her mouth or belly. I found out about a week later that she had a Liver Shunt. Sometimes dogs and other animals do things they have never done before, to show you something is wrong with them. Chance had never chewed anything besides what I give her to chew. After her shunt was repaired, she has not chewed anything again. So maybe Maddy is showing you something could be wrong, I am not saying that she has a Liver Shunt, but something could be going on with her. Yorkies are known for teeth and gum problems, you might need to check her out and not worry about material things that can be replaced. Sandy and Chance | |

| Donating YT 11K Club Member | Awww Poor Maddy. I let my dogs have free roam of the house when im not here or lock them in my big room but when i do i make sure nothing that can harm them is out, for example things that can fall, no cords, nothing little they can choke on. You have to puppy proof your house, it's not Maddy's fault. She bit the stuff cause it was there for her to chew

| That's terrible!! I hope everything gets replaced and he isn't mad at her for too long. One thing about the crates, my dog loves his crate. He loves it because he can count on it in his schedule. He knows he goes in it at night and when I leave for school (during the school year) and he goes straight it. I don't even have to close the door at night. He is a lot safer and I know he isn't going potty or chewing on anything. He chews A LOT! That's just my opinion though.
