| All my little ones are rescued . Its really sad to see in what condition they arrived here but so heartwarming to see the change when some go to their new homes . Some peoples told me I am completely crazy to take care of little ones with troubles but I really don't care about what they have to say . The little ones are my life . |

| Oh, I love each of these stories! Thank you for sharing and for starting this thread. Don't have a rescue Yorkie here. (But did take in a stray rescue mixed dog in March.) Also, thanks for the lesson on how to move pictures.

| I love love love this thread!! My Buddy was a rescued/rehomed pup. We got him when he was 5 months old. My fiance' happened to be in the right place at the right time when he came across Buddy. My fiance' was doing work at a woman's house, and when he went to collect the bill, Buddy comes bolting out the door and was trying to get his attention. The woman said that he never is that affectionate with anyone in the house, so it was odd to her that he was so "in love" with a complete stranger. So it turned out that the woman had bought Buddy as a Christmas gift for her 16 y/o daughter, and expected the daughter to take care of him, since she had been asking for a dog for some time. The daughter was not taking care of the dog, and the woman told my fiance' that she was sick of cleaning up after him, and tired of trying get the stains out of her white carpeting. Here was a spoiled woman who had no idea what kind of work having a dog entails. Well, she told my fiance' that she was planning to get rid of him...all because she did not take the time out to train and interact with the dog. What did she expect??...a stuffed animal?? ![]() Once she told my fiance' that she was planning on getting rid of him, my fiance' sent me a message and a picture and said that we were going to bring Buddy home. I agreed right away. My fiance' told the woman that we would be happy to take Buddy off her hands, and she agreed, but said that she would have to ask her daughter first...weird ...but whatever. So a week goes by, and the daughter...who won't train or take care of Buddy, still did not want to give him up. I think she was just attached to him like a child would be to a stuffed toy, but will only interact with it when she wants to, and then the toy lays on the floor completely neglected for some time. The father finally intervened and Buddy came to live with us. He will be 1 year on August 1st. He is the best thing to have happened to us.....he was so easy to potty train, has great temperment, and a wonderful big brother to his sister Lilu.![]() ![]() |

| Crosley was a rehome. We got her when she was about 3 1/2 months old from someone who had bought her from a breeder. They didn't like her and she wasn't being treated well and was kept in the basement. They had only had her three weeks. She's such a loving dog, she loves kids and other dogs! We have had her 7 years! Wrigley we got from a breeder when she was a puppy and she will be 3 this month! Camden is a "rescue". We got her when she was a little over 2years old from a breeder after she had lost puppies she was carrying. She was in HORRIBLE shape when we brought her home. She had double ear and eye infections, worms, sores, half of the hair on her nose was missing from scabs, she was matted to the skin all over her body and smelled of dirt and urine! It was so incredibly sad! We have had her a little over a year now and we just love her to death! 1st pic is Crosley, 2nd is Camden shortly after we brought her home. You can't tell from the photo just how bad she was! The last photo is Wrigley and Camden is on the right!

| Daisy is a rescue - she was purchased in Oregon and on her way to California was found to be very sick. After stopping at the emergency vets on their way home and then after having her evaluated at their own vets they decided they couldn't afford to keep her and didn't want to put her to sleep as suggested. They didn't want to go back to the breeder either. The decision was to call rescue - rescue called me and asked if I would care for her as she needed round the clock care. Daisy weighed 15 ounces at 4 months of age - she was very very sick - she couldn't go to the bathroom by herself and her digestive system didn't work right. Daisy is now almost 4 years old and is HEALTHY and weighs a BIG 3 lbs. 7 ounces! Karen and DAISY |

| I love how this thread has taken on a life of its own. My inbox was full of all of the new posts of the wonderful stories. Each and everyone has put a great big smile on my face for days! The one thing that I noticed was that these stories prove that rescues make a wonderful addition to your family. LET'S KEEP THEM COMING! I WANT MORE! MORE! MORE!

| My first dog Willow was 10 years old when i rescued her. She had been abused. She had cigarette burn marks on her head..it broke my heart. She didnt know how to play and was frightened of just about everything. I had 4 wonderful years with her, and it was so good to see her blossom into a confident and happy little dog, until doggy alzheimers took hold. How i wish i could have had her from a puppy and given her the life and love she deserved. At least i know the last 4 years of her life were happy and full of love. Molly was also a rescue and i was her 5th home in 2 years. Ive had her for 2 years and she is 4 now and a little tomboy! She has a few issues, and is frightened if i move too quickly or if i pick up anything resembling a stick, even if im nowhere near her. It makes me sad to think what may have happened to her in the past, but all i can do is make sure she now has all the love and fuss she wants. I cant imagine ever wanting to have anything other than a rescue dog..the rewards are so great. |

| Jodi, He is not a Yorkie but I will post and tell you about this gentle soul. His name is Bailey and was found by Animal control Mineral Wells Tx. He was there for about a week. It was his day to be put to sleep but Scottie Rescue went in that day and saved him. I had just lost Angus after 10 years. When I got the call I ran over the next day and sat on her floor with Bailey and just cried. She checked me out head to toe and did a home check and a vet check and Bailey has been with me over 3 years now. All the Yorkies just love him and lick him to death. He is a Brindle Scottie. ![]() Is"nt he just the hunk. Im so lucky. |
