| Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Our little girl will be 6 yrs old this month, we will have had her 2 yrs next month. She's doing well, our baby to say the least. My husband loves her like no other dog we've ever owned. She still shows us something new once in awhile, we wonder if she will ever come out of her shell totally. But if she doesn't we understand and love just the way she is.

| Toby celebrated his 3rd Birthday on May 1st. For those who don't know, we've had him since he was 18 Months, so he has now been in our lives for half his life. He is on his way to "welldome" and becoming a superdog! We had him in Florida for the winter, and he loved it. He made some great friends and is a terrific traveler. When he sees packing going on, he's ready to roll. He's still a barking fool, but we're learning to live with it. He knows the routine around here, and after dinner he barks while we're doing the cleanup to tell us it's time to go in the den and watch TV. He does think he's the Boss! His tail used to be stuck to his butt to! Not anymore the stub goes from side to side more often than not! |

| I am now the proud mamma of 2 yorkie girls!!! First is Sophie Anne- we got her from a rescue a year ago on June 8th. She is my little wonder dog..if you met her a year ago and then saw her again today you would never guess she is the same dog. she has come so far.. And Disney..which we shortened to Izzie b/c my niece can not say her D's..LOL. I got her just month ago from a breeder (kelly anderson) she is doing fabulously and I am very pleased to have been able to adopt her after the "slight" drama that was on her for sale forum. Izzie is an absolute love bug. She wants nothing more than to sit in your lap!! I couldn't have found a better fit. I LOVE LOVE LOVE watching my two play together!! |

| I don't really know if Smokey is considered a "rescue" or a "rehome". He was born in a puppy mill, and sold to some adult kids who bought him for their disabled, wheel chair bound mother. I really think the woman tried to take care of him, but just couldn't handle him. I also think he was primarily left in a crate, as his behavior shows that he can not handle crates at all and not in a normal sort of way. He has severe anxiety. Anyways, he was given up after being with her for a few months to the person who is our groomer now. She'll sometimes take in dogs that need homes, rehabilitate, train, and care for them, and give them to her clients or people she knows, then offer to groom/board them free of charge to keep up with them. He was given to a woman who kept promising to take him but just wasn't ready yet. After she was "ready" she brought him home and kept him for only four days and brought him back claiming he wasn't potty trained, even though our groomer informed her of this ahead of time. The next day after he was returned I received a phone call from my friend's mom who is friends with our groomer and told me about this yorkie that needed a home. The next day I called about him and the day after that I was bringing home my Smokey. He was 6 months old. He has not grown length wise or in height, but he was only 7 lbs when we brought him home. He is now 14 lbs. We tried to crate train him and as soon as we put him in there he'd start pacing and whining really bad. Next thing we knew he was having severe diarrhea. I figured maybe he just didn't like crates, so I'd baby gate him in the bathroom. Same reaction. He would act like that even if we just walked across the room to go to bed and he could see us from where he was at and see Chip in his crate too. I believe that this is the reason he was returned - she didn't understand he had separation anxiety after all he'd already been through. After about a week, I figured it out and did a little experiment. I let him AND Chip free roam in our master bedroom when we left. His problem disappeared and he gained all his weight back!!! This poor dog used to be scared of everything. At one point I couldn't even kiss him without him freaking out. After a lot of hard work, he is the perfect baby and I wouldn't trade him for anything. Sometimes if he senses a change he'll get all anxious and his anxiety problem will surface, like the time I was dog sitting for my MIL and I left their dog in a crate downstairs hoping it would make life easier on all three dogs since Ace (MIL's dog) always stays in a crate and mine free roam in the bedroom when we leave. Smokey had a cow! I came back home to my bedroom with a biiiiiig, nasty, smelly mess. The next day I put Ace in a crate in the bedroom and all three were totally content. When we moved into our condo, Smokey started up again too. He just takes awhile to get used to new situations. So anyways, that's Smokey's story. We've had him 2 1/2 years now!

| My Peanut and Nikki are both rescue/rehomed Biewers...do they count?? They aren't shelter rescues but from a home where they weren't cared for properly. I have already placed Nikki in a wonderful home and had planned to place Peanut...buuuut...I can't seem to let the little guy leave! Can you blame me though...just look at that little face! |

| Lizzie is a rehome. I have fostered and placed Italian Greyhounds for more than ten years and when I heard about Lizzie, then met her, I got involved. Her owner was going to return her to the breeder if she couldn't find a home for her. The breeder the woman got Lizzie from, actually hadn't bred her but was an internet reseller, and she sold quite a few different breeds of dogs, all small. I decided I would take Lizzie and either turn her into rescue or place her myself. I kept her instead. I was the little L's third home. She's a pistol! The first picture is of Lizzie laying on top of one of my rescue IGs, Angie. I had been sitting in the chair with the little blue dog on my lap, another IG rescue. You can't tell in the picture, really, but she is one of the worse looking IGs I have ever seen, which she makes up for with a personality that makes her adorable. She has no teeth (they were rotted out), two legs that had been broken and left to heal on their own, and she has a deformed rib cage. Within an hour of getting P, she was mine forever. The next picture is of my first two IGs, the black and seal girls, Gracie and Opal, both 15 yrs old, and two rescues. The little red female was Pita, who passed in Feb from a brain tumor, at age 16. The larger red male is Monty. He lived the first 5 or so years outside 24/7. He was a mess, but life is good for him now, and he is about the same age as G & O.

| Donating YT 500 Club Member | Bridget was an Amish Puppy Mill rescue. We brought her home at 12 weeks weighing just over 2lbs. She is the best thing that ever happened to me (along with my kids and grandsons)!!!

| Our Dany is a rescue we adopted this past February. She is believed to be a puppy mill/BYB pup due to her neglect and behaviors, but was found as a stray. She has come such a long way since then! She now runs across the lawn with Addie and Mia whereas before she was afraid to step on the green stuff. She plays with toys and eats treats, she goes up and down the stairs (getting her to do this was even harder than potty training her), and she wants to be held. She's about 7 years old. Her legs are a bit akimbo, probably from being in a cage. But, she has become such a little lover. She now insists on being pet, before she would get tense when we touched her. It's also believed she was debarked. She just makes a raspy "bark" when she tries and you can't even hear it if you close the door. She is very reactive to children's voices, strange noises, and many other things. We're working on it though. We can now interrupt the behavior, if not totally stop it yet. We feel we are just the luckiest people in the world for finding her!
