I have now caught up on this thread since I went to bed last night. Having slept on this, I have the following thoughts:

**No member of YT should give money to support this situation unless Emma goes to a rescue, and a member is interested in supporting her through that rescue

**I want to remind everyone here, old members and new, that there have been situations in the past where money has been donated by YT members, only to have that situation go entirely awry

**The buyer needs to decide whether to 1) return Emma to seller or 2) rehome her herself, spaying her or 3) give her to rescue

**I would still act as a liaison btwn buyer and seller if it came to that

The bottom line is, YT cannot act as a source for donations in these types of matters - it would set us up for all manner of scams and puts our members at risk.

And the heart of the matter is -- there is a little dog's well being at stake here, which really has nothing to do with money whatsoever. So, I think at this point a person has to ask themselves, what is the best thing I could do for THIS DOG --> and then do it.

Jasmanea, I'm not sure if money is the reason that you aren't giving a refund or not, but why don't you give her HALF of the refund now, and then the other half of the refund after you rehome Emma (minus shipping costs)? After Teiya posted that advertisement through Chelsey that was just as misleading as yours was, I don't trust that she will find a decent home for her either. Neither of you seem to care about this dogs well being, but I DO think it's your responsibility to deal with this issue since you are the original seller.

Wylie's Mom, thanks for clarifying that donations should be done through a rescue. I was afraid that people would start giving their money to this cause and things would go awry.

If your family was really "well versed in the legal arena," I think you'd realize the law is not on your side here. Not only is Florida law consumer friendly, there are also penalties that can be assessed against you beyond merely refunding her money and paying for return shipping. Italian or not, you should be able to realize when standing your ground is more trouble than it's worth.

I've spent my entire week talking with people regarding this dog (mostly yesterday and today). Yes, I was going to place her under the same conditions that YOU placed her with me under... in tact and breedable. But she's not a good specimen to breed and I know that now (I don't breed dogs btw so I'd have no friggin clue what's a good breeder and what isn't). But several of my close friends, one being a breeder of beagles saw Emma within the past 2 days and told me flat out she's not what you presented. We are FULLY prepared to go to great lenghts after all the B.S lies and the posts on EMMA. Give your "friend" Gee another one the "lawyer" your ad that you stated she was going into heat soon and going to be a great breeder. I'm open to suggestions.
I'm open to another YTer placing her just to keep things HONEST and fair. Whatever it takes. The more we go around and around, the longer Emma's life lingers in uncertainty. This isn't fair to me or Emma and Jasmanea needs to start acting like and ADULT and not reposting things to make herself loojk better (which isn't going to work)

I just want my money back. I worked hard for that and I'm entitled to at least a good portion of it. Any person in my situation would.

Ok I am new here and have been reading all this.Jasmanea I think your pups are cute but I don't think to highly of you.My Jasper is 12 wks. old a is AKC registered he is valued at 1000.You have a female 1yr. old who isn't fixed and is ckc registered.From the pics I seen she doesn't seem like a good canidate to breed.So she needs to be fixed.My understanding with that is her value goes down.If she was being sold here it would be around 300.None of this should have kept going you has the prior owner of the dog should have taken her back no ifs ands or buts.It is obvious you don't want to fork over that money.FINE!!!! Then she needs a new home because she isn't working out where she is.With her aggression issues and her being an older dog it might be very hard to do.I am in love with this baby girl and wished I could come up with money to bring her into a home where she will be loved forever.I have made phone calls after phone calls today trying to get something.I have only scraped up 300.I have a child in private school we just bought a new car and a new house.We are in the middle of remodeling the basement that is all I have.I could pay the rest in a payment plan but that is it.There is my offer,it is out there.Oh I live in Illinois too so I would have to get some help on getting her to me.This girl needs a home PERIOD!!!

You never intended to refund my money from the word go. I agreed to give Emma some time. I did that. I did EXACTLY what you asked me to do. EMMA should go to a good rescue! Not back to that so called breeder. She is not a breeder..she is not in love of the breed except money. I don't think highly of the breeder or the OP. I want to see Emma go to a great home. I will give my donation if she goes to a rescue. I dont think she should go back to the breeder.

the breeder should stop posting since it is only making her look worse and worse. I have dealt with breeders in the past with purchasing my girls and trust me non of them are like this so called breeder.
