I have now caught up on this thread since I went to bed last night. Having slept on this, I have the following thoughts:
**No member of YT should give money to support this situation unless Emma goes to a rescue, and a member is interested in supporting her through that rescue
**I want to remind everyone here, old members and new, that there have been situations in the past where money has been donated by YT members, only to have that situation go entirely awry
**The buyer needs to decide whether to 1) return Emma to seller or 2) rehome her herself, spaying her or 3) give her to rescue
**I would still act as a liaison btwn buyer and seller if it came to that
The bottom line is, YT cannot act as a source for donations in these types of matters - it would set us up for all manner of scams and puts our members at risk. And the heart of the matter is -- there is a little dog's well being at stake here, which really has nothing to do with money whatsoever. So, I think at this point a person has to ask themselves, what is the best thing I could do for THIS DOG --> and then do it.
