To be fair to the OP, she was looking for a dog within "the standard".
However, as you said, it may end up working out for the better if he is a little larger than you expected. Thor is four lbs, and he is invariably the smallest dog we see in the dog parks. Even at yorkie meet ups, he is usually the smallest adult. Any time we go for a walk, someone says he's the smallest dog they've ever seen.
What I want to know is, where are all the "teacups"? They are supposed to be popular, but we never meet any.
