I just realized I left off my puppies weight.

Eva Noel is 5 1/2 months and probably weighs about 4 lbs now, she weighed almost 4 lbs when she hit the 5 month marker. She's small but has a rock hard middle which is what makes her feel heavy. She has a silky coat.

Bella Bleu is over 5 months and weighs 3 lbs. She has a long heavy coat, I think it's cottony (?) so she looks about the same size as Eva.

Doc Love is 3 months and weighs under 2 lbs. He has the thick cottony (?)coat like Bella Bleu, in fact, they have the same sire and he weighs 3.5 lbs.

My (married) daughter has Eva's full brother and he weighs the same as Eva, and she has Doc's full sister and she weighs the same as Doc, in fact they look like twins!

My Yorkie Buddy he weighed 7.5 at five months old and at 1Yr old now he is 18 pounds he is my first Yorkie I had no idea what the norm was until we went to the vet. He is a purebred with DNA testing the vet said he is a throwback to the first Yorkies. The vet said all you usually see now is the small runt dogs bred to other runt dogs and what you get is a to small and sometimes unhealthy dog. My Buddy is healthy he is just large. I wanted a smaller one but I would not trade him for nothing. I saw one lady selling hers because he was considered large to her 5 pounds at 6 months she was going to sell hers and get a smaller one 2 pounds she said her kids would enjoy it more. That is awful getting a dog and loving it and raising it and discarding it because he is not small enough. Small kids could kill a 2 pound dog if they are not careful. I love my bigger than normal Yorkie with all his never ending energy and bouncing and jumping all over the place.

My Sasha weighs 8 pounds at 2 1/2 years. It's okay if your baby turns out bigger than is "standard", just makes her less fragile!

Jasper weighed 2.5 lbs at 16 weeks old. I'm anxious to see what he weighs next week when we go back for his last round of shots. He will be 19 weeks old then. I'm hoping he is 6-7 as an adult though.

See...that is what I mean. I want Jasper to be on the higher end of the weight scale. I'm scared he will get hurt otherwise. Heck...I am afraid to let him sleep with me because I'm scared he will jump off of the bed and break a bone. I know....paranoid and over protective aren't I?

When I last posted my Eva Noel was 5 1/2 months old and was 4lbs., she is now 6 1/2 months old and still weighs 4lbs.

My Bella was just past her 5 month birth date and weighed 3lbs, she is now 6 months and 1 week and weighs 3.5 lbs.

My little Doc was 3 months and weighed just under 2 lbs, he is now 4 months and has gained a whopping 3/4 lb and his little belly looks like he swallowed a mango! He has grown more coat and that could account for some of his added weight but realistically, I know he's just fat and eats way too much! Today we start an exercise program. Wish me luck!

Well Max is 6 yrs and is slowing loosing some extra weight, he is now around 7 1/2 pounds. He should be about 5 lbs. Hubby likes to spoil him with food, so he has been on a diet for a few months!

Teeka has been 3.6 pounds since she was 6 months old and she is now 10 months and finally weights 3.9 pounds! I am trying to get her to 4 lbs.

Tatiana is my little tater tot and she is almost 20 weeks (on Sunday) and she weights almost 2 lbs (1.15) I am praying she will get to that 3 pound mark but we will have to wait and see!

Lexi is 16 weeks old and weighs 1.4 pounds. Her mother was 4 pounds and dad was 2 1/2 so I hope she will be at least 2 1/2 full grown. Knock wood she is healthy and eats well and runs around like a little bunny but you need to watch where you walk!! (LOL)

Molly is 6 moths and 3 weeks old and weighed in at a whopping 3.2 lbs last week. I am trying to get her up to 4 lbs but not sure that we're gonna get there.

Agree 100%. My male is over standard weight (8.8lbs) even if his mother is well below (6lbs) and his father even smaller. I really don't think honest breeders lie to their customers as much as they just can't predict. Some pups grow bigger than expected. One litter produced two fine steel grey and and tan pups, one really dark, with appropriate markings and another blonde almost white. These are pet quality not show. Just love them as each one is unique.

Little Doc is 17 weeks now but was charting 3-3.5 lbs just a couple of weeks ago, which is what his sire weighs, but the hubs has been spoiling him with treats that are full of calories and now he is charting 4.5 lbs! *lol*

When I look down over him like the illustration suggest (on another thread), his torso looks like an english bulldog puppy instead of a Yorkie, he's so FAT!

His little legs are short and his bones are small, he has a short back and a small head, but his belly is out of control! My DH is in time out!

I hear more and more that yorkies come in all different sizes, i've seen pretty big yorkie's before because my aunt was a groomer and she sometimes would have me help her shampoo the dogs there would be pretty big yorkie's that would come in, purebreds too! My cooper weighs about 6.5 lbs but he is kind of long, he fits in small clothing but seems to be a bit too long for them, i tried going up to a medium but it hangs down on him like it's too big.... he's not the smallest yorkie but he is in the standards. does anyone else have this problem? lol (:
