| Upset Okay guys I know you haven't heard from me in some time. I have researched so much and was waiting on my new little guy. Then I received a e-mail a few weeks back that he was born, then last week I received another one stating he would not be sold to me because he was too small. Now I am back to nothing. I am so upset, why even tell me he was born if I was not going to get him. I'm not upset at the breeder, but I am so upset at being told....does this make sense? I have waited 15 years for a yorkie (husband kicked against it for this long) and I thought I would finally get one. Now I probably will have to wait again or not even get one. This sucks for me. YT 1000 Club Member | Hey Julie, I don't know why the breeder did that. But look on the bright side you really don't have to wait or resign yourself to not getting a Yorkie. Go check out the Yorkies for sale section and there are alot for sale.

| I know you must be so disappointed. Maybe that little guy just wasn't meant to be for some reason. You will find the perfect boy, don't give up!

| Does that mean SHE is going to keep him? With good guidance and extra special care most people can take good care of a little one..do you have young children? some breeders are cautious of little ones going to families with young children. My breeder sold Pixie to me as she was going to be too small to show or breed(she's just under 3lbs at 13 months)..she said to me she didn't let her yokies go to people with very young children..Pixie is hard work and takes up most of my time (but of course, she is my life!)..I watch her like a hawk around the house and garden and i'm extra cautious when out in public with her..too many hazards.. from over excited children to other dogs..you have to be super vigilant..these tinies are extremely vulnerable! I'm so very sorry for you, I can imagine your disappointment..but if you keep looking and with help from your YT friends..i'm pretty sure you will very soon find the yorkie for you..please try not feel so disheartened.

| I want to thank you guys for the kind words. I know I shouldn't stop looking but like I said I am so disappointed. To answer the question on if she is going to keep him i'm not really for sure. She has a picture of him up on her site. I did ask for a picture a while back and she told me didn't take pictures when they are young I guess she changed her mind about me adopting him. I will keep looking, but you know I really thought he would be perfect for me. All of my kids are teenagers so children are not the problem when it comes to getting one. She did say he was small when she e-mailed me about him being born....so I was forewarn on him, I just worried about him living and his health, then I received the e-mail saying he was too small. Oh well I guess back to the drawing board. |

Was wondering..did you already agree on a price for this pup? maybe she realised there are people out there that will pay through the nose for a 'Tiny' yorkie..so maybe she wanted to take her chances and re-advertise him and get a good price for him. Just a thought...Goodluck to you & keep in touch!

As far as the breeder, let's for a moment give her the benefit of the doubt - a friend of mine was on a breeder's waiting list for months, when the puppies (2) were born, she received an email regarding the birth. The mom had 1male & 1female, as my friend was currently at the top of the list, she had first choice, she chose the male. A few weeks later, she was told by the breeder that she could not get the puppy again, as he was very tiny, was not gowing at the same rate as his sister, and that she just wasn't comfortable selling him to a first time yorkie owner. My friend was very upset, so the lady told her to come see her. When my friend went to see her, the breeder showed her the puppy and the adults she had there, she told my friend she has owned and bred yorkies for years, and whenever a puppy showed signs of being 'demanding' healthwise, she learned over the years that it was better to keep them or put them in a home with a more experienced person. Sickly yorkies demand ALOT of attention, care AND money. This puppy would have been my friend's first dog ever. The breeder even offered to assist her in finding another puppy. I told my friend I respected this woman alot as she definately cared, she had even made a visit to my friend's home prior to accepting her as a potential owner, to see the environment the puppy would be raised in and offer tips on preparing her home. Some breeders are very particular and rightfully so. So hopefully your breeder is one of the good ones (at least for the dogs sake).

| Well, the breeder was me (I think). This little guy only weighs 8 ounces at almost six weeks old. I will keep him for a longggg time to ensure that he doesn't go to his new family with sugar problems or anything else that these tinies can have. I thought I might be saving her some heartache down the road. it is in his best interest to stay right where he is until I can be sure I am not selling some unsuspecting family a new set of problems. i notified Julie when he was born because she had been on my waiting list for awhile and that is what I do so the people on my list know I have babies. there have been people waiting a year or more for one of my babies so I kind of make a 'birth announcement.' usually, the males are so hard to sell because everyone wants girls. Well, I have four beautiful girls and one teeny tiny boy. i didn't mean to hurt Julia at all and i thought she understood my reasoning. Sorry if you guys don't agree with my decision. I have always got to put my puppies best interests first. And yes, I did tell her she could have the puppy on limited for 800. he will certainly not be sold to anyone else. You guys know me and have for a long time and if Julie had looked or even known I was a member here, she would have found tons of good references on me in the breeder review section. I am honest and forthright with my puppies and the 21 or so of you that have my babies on here know that. julie, again i am so sorry you were hurt. if you change your mind and want a girl just let me know. | hi, I am sorry it did not work out for you. I am not sure what the breeders intentions were when she told you the pup was too small. I would have asked for more of a detailed explaination. She could have had your best interest at heart, and the puppy, Or it could have been something else . Put the next puppy in writing. Make a agreement and have this documented if you need to wait to have your puppy. .
