| ![]() The cost of a vet visit, a new bed, and a bunch of good food. Stanford is doing well, btw, for those who followed our story over the several months that it unfolded. ![]()

| ![]() Teddy was free. The lady i work with gave him to me because she didnt want him (she doesnt like dogs.. ) and was sick of taking him outside to pee! (can u believe that? lol) so we are lucky, he is the sweetest little dog we have ever owned, and we will have him forever. the cats hate to admit it, but i think they love him too lol

| ![]() Let's see. Ceasar was free. His owners couldn't care for him anymore and knew we loved yorkies. Pip was a rescue and her fee was $400. Max was also free from people who didn't have time for him. According to their paperwork they paid $1700 for him. I feel it was just "meant to be" for them to be with us. They are all wonderful dogs. ![]() |

| ![]() this has become a popular post!! haha isn't it ashame that these people give their dogs up because they can't handle letting them out, or bothering to train them? makes me so angry. but it's good that there are people like us to take them in and understand that patience is important when training a puppy.

| ![]() I paid $1000 for Scooter at a breeder about 45 minutes from my home. He came home with a huge puppy pack (carrier; bed; toys; collar; leash; family pictures - parents, grandparents, siblings; AKC papers; etc). I was looking for a puppy right around my birthday and found the breeder's info a few weeks after. As it turns out, Scooter was born on my birthday. He is the best belated birthday gift I have ever allowed myself to have. Scooter was worth every penny and more. I can't imagine life without him.

| ![]() I own two Bichon Frise sisters which I got from a breeder in NC seven yrs ago. I found his advertisement in a American Kennel Club magazine at that time. I researched him alot and recieved excellent reviews and references. He is a member of the Better Business Bureau and has been breeding small breed dogs for 30 yrs. I paid $600.00 each for my Bichons and they have been wonderful. Two year health guarantee and he would have flown them but I was coming back from vacation in S.C. at that time so I arranged to pick them up from him. I also wanted to meet him, see his place and see the parents of my Bichons. He and his wife have a great web site and they were very helpful. I still have my Bichons but when I decided upon a yorkie I immediatly went back to him. I ordered one female yorkie born April 12 and I planned to go and pick her up. I had pictures sent to me form the breeder when she was about five weeks old. On the way to pick her up from Northern Virginia, my twin 19 yr. old daughters told me they would also like a yorkie puppy. I said well you will just have to call the breeder but do not get your hopes up as most are already spoken for because he only breeds a few each spring. Well they did call and were lucky, he had three male yorkie puppies still not spoken for. They were born on April 25 so two weeks younger than mine and from a entirely different litter. I paid $800.00 for my puppy Dixie and my girls actually got a little bit lower price of $700.00 for thier puppy Teddy. I have seen yorkies go from low prices to very high prices but I felt very comfortable and trusting of this breeder. The day we got back home with the puppies I took them to the vet which is what you are required to do to make thier health guarantee into effect. They were very healthy and now that we have had them for at least two weeks I am so pleased. They are wonderfully playful, eats well, sleeps all nite. They have graduated from a playpen area to the kitchen area. Just today I noticed Dixies ears were both up. She looks so cute. Every day I notice something new about them. I think I paid about the normal price and they were so worth every dollar. Now what I did not say is the weekend we went to go get them we had the transimission blow out in our Ford Windstar van at the top of a mountain. How scarry was that. We had to rent a van to come home in and tomorrow my husband has rented a car to drive back down there (about 6and a half hour drive) to get our van that had to be fixed at a price of alittle over $3000.00. What a weekend! But those puppies are wonderful. Good Luck with yours! ![]() |

| ![]() I got my 2 1/2lb full AKC registered boy, Alastor, for $750 from a great local breeder. We will be getting a senior yorkie girl, Perenelle, by the end of July and are paying $350 for her adoption fee and $90 to have her shipped. A lady from the rescue is flying with her from Kansas so I don't have to worry about her on the plane. She does have MVD, but seems otherwise healthy. She is about 5lbs and is a former mill mom.

| ![]() My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was $1,300. YIKES! I used all my savings, plus last years tax refund ![]() Our Yorkie mix, Ella Bean was a rescue. It was $30 for the rescue + $200 to adopt her without spaying her at the shelter. The $200 was refundable if I had her spayed there, but I didn't want her to be spayed by the shelter's nasty clinic. So, $230 for the adoption, + $300 for spaying. She is now a healthy nine months old and 2.7 lbs. All the best money I have ever spent. If there was a thread on how much I have spent collectively on the two monsters, it could probably feed a small 3rd world nation for a significant amount of time, I am embarrassed to say. I don't know where I found all that money, since we don't make a whole lot!! ![]()
