My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was $1,300. YIKES! I used all my savings, plus last years tax refund
But it was sooooooooo worth it. He is now 1 1/2, perfectly healthy and just adorable. He is around 10 lbs, which is small for a Cavalier, but he could still fill in.
Our Yorkie mix, Ella Bean was a rescue. It was $30 for the rescue + $200 to adopt her without spaying her at the shelter. The $200 was refundable if I had her spayed there, but I didn't want her to be spayed by the shelter's nasty clinic. So, $230 for the adoption, + $300 for spaying. She is now a healthy nine months old and 2.7 lbs.
All the best money I have ever spent. If there was a thread on how much I have spent collectively on the two monsters, it could probably feed a small 3rd world nation for a significant amount of time, I am embarrassed to say. I don't know where I found all that money, since we don't make a whole lot!!
