| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I found in the newspaper a couple who couldn't keep their puppy anymore (they had a bigger dog, and it was not adjusting well to the new yorkie pup), they were asking $2000 for her. Although there was NO way I could afford that, i don't know what prompted me to call anyway. They said "we have to get rid of her TODAY, can you please come see her??" I drove an hour and a half to see her, and fell absolutely in love!! I told them there is no way I could pay $2000, and they said "we don't care, we just want to know she's going to a good home, just give us what you have".... I ended up paying $500 for her. I felt bad because they paid $2800 from the breeder, but that's all I could afford at the time. After that, she was mine!! It was fate, I believe. I am the luckiest mommy in the world to have her!! |

| Check petfinder.com in your area and see if there's any you can save! Or look through craigslist.com in your local area for people re-homing dogs.

| Harley Dean was $500... which is about $1.36 a day. I'm a broke grad student so that's pretty reasonable. I love him. But since he's the man of the house, I wish he'd get a job! lol! |

| Our little girl was $260. She was 7 months old, purebred, with papers, and able to be registered, but they wouldn't ship her. Couldn't have worked out better for us!

| well...i would say you got a REALLY good deal. I know prices vary depending on where you live, the popularity of them and the lines. We have 3 dogs, two yorkies, and a maltese. $800 for the Maltese; $1800 for the older yorkie who is 4 years old, and (oh my) i should not even say....how much for the TINY one! He's one year old and under 2 lbs! Actually, we got him much cheaper than breeders normally ask for them This little one needed a good home, and the breeders KNEW he would have one with us. But, honestly, it doesnt matter How Much you pay. They are all wonderful bundles of joy! Quote:

| well. i couldnt agree with you more. McDreamy, i can now say, without having to feel too badly. Is worth well over $3500., I wsa fortunate to get him for what I did because it was more important to get him to a GOOD home. I was not interested in studding him out, which so many people do just for the money. That is not my intention. He's just Under 2 lbs at 1 1/2 years old. and adorable. your right, you DO get what you pay for, in terms of quality. however, there are others who pay considerably less but their babies are every bit as important and perfect to them! | Tricksie is 2, Registered with the CKC, purebred, they wanted $1200 but only had $1100 in cash and she took it. No amount of money could buy her.

| let me just say, how VERY lucky you were. I have to say i am uite surprised that they let it go for so little. Typically good owners already know very reputable people who would have taken him in a minute. I just pray that the little one did not have any health issues. This happened to a friend of mine, with a similar situation. Turned out, the little one had major health issues, and unfortunately....well, I'll leave it at that. PLEASE, take your little one to the vet and get a THOROUGH examination on him. Good luck to you and your little bundle of joy!! Quote:
