Its a personal decision. The benefits are belonging to your breed's club, (which is nowhere as fun as YT
), participating in AKC events, etc. I didn't register my Cavalier, even though he has a pedigree and papers and don't feel I missed out since we don't show and he is neutered.
I am sure there are more educated people then me on the subject!
