| I know the boy dogs use them. Do you think I could pick one up at a pet store? I have a PetsMart and PetCo fairly close by. I wonder if she would be able to yank it up if she sunk her teeth into it, the way she does if I attempt to put anything on her?

| It might be worth the try. The ones we have used were made by friends, but I am sure that they must all use the same principle and use velcro. I just hope you find something that will make her more comfortable and there for make things easier for you too. |

). Last night I slept with her crate right next to me, kept waking all the time to sneak up on her with a torch, just to make sure she was not throwing up in her sleep. The exhaustion I don't mind, it's watching her like this that tears my heart out.![]() ![]() ![]() Lauren

| Hi, Lauren. "The torch was a give-away to your accent" My concern for Mango is that she needs the antibiotics to insure there is no residual infection associated with the surgery. Is she able to keep any of the antibiotics down? If it isn't the pain meds, then like human, she could be sensetive to the antibiotic. What is she taking? Clavamox? I would definitely revist the vet via phone ($$), and find an alternative. As you know, her surgery is equivalent to a hysterectomy and no one has major surgery with preventative medication. Make sure she doesn't become too frisky and try to nap when she does. Warmly, Deborah PS At least a human can say "oh, that hurts" or I don't like the place, Momma. That is the reason that I carry my pets into the vet's office. The drive over seems to set off the alert initially.

![]() I just checked the antibiotic label. It says "Clindamycin". I was also concerned about suspending the treatment; I worry about the potential for infection. However, after each dose she has thrown up intermittently for the rest of the day. Initially we thought it was the pain meds, but she has had none today. The Vet gave me anti-nausea drops which I gave to her this morning 20 mins before the antibiotic. She started vomiting again soon after, so obviously she cannot tolerate it. I am slightly encouraged because the amount of vomiting today is not as profuse as yesterday, when she was actually projectile vomiting. I am watching her like a hawk and don't let her out of my sight for a moment. Thanks for your concern, as always. Lauren

| Lauren, I am so sorry your little Mango is going through this! I am sending prayers, that she will be better in no time. As far as the e-collar, I wouldn't push it. My oldest, a Bichon, went absolutely bonkers when I put an e-collar on him when he was neutered. I took it off right away and just watched him like a hawk and would not let him lick his stitches. If you are able to watch her 24/7, then you can catch her when she is trying to lick them. If not, maybe a onesie is your best alternative? We are sending hugs and kisses to mango and a big HUG to you, mommy. Mango, you will feel better soon, I am sure of it!!
