I have yorkies and a maltese. No morkies but... I love both breeds. But my question is, For those who are quick to judge the person doing the breeding, are you this quick to judge someone in person? Are you this vocal in public. I think people can give their opinion without all the mud slinging. I came on here a few months ago for some good advice, but I have to say I'm really afraid sometimes to ask questions for fear of being attacked. If there are people out there seeking advice I don't think they should be afraid to ask their questions. Educate without the hate!

But then you've got your good breeders and your bad breeders....reputable and unreputable. I've never said I don't like mixed breed dogs. I love all dogs. But I don't support those intentionally breeding mixed breed dogs. And I don't support unreputable breeders of purebred dogs either. I'm sorry but I won't ever change my opinion that all breeders that intentionally breed mixes are NOT reputable breeders. If someone wants to support an unreputable breeder, I guess that's their choice...I guess I'll just never understand why people choose to do it.

I have a yorkie poo and I love him dearly but he is from a pet store aka puppy mill. I will never buy another mix again, knowing what I know now and won't support breeders who breed mixes. Of course they are cute (what dog isn't), but breeding just to breed is simply adding to overpopulation among dogs and there's no health screening, no standard to live up to, ect. There's also no way you can tell what a mixed breed puppy will grow to look like. My yorkie poo Bentley looks very much poodle like and has stayed that way through his adult life, but I've seen other mixes that look night and day from puppyhood to adulthood. If you really want a mixed breed, I would suggest looking at some local rescues or petfinder.com and not supporting irresponsible breedings. JMO

Well ,my two cents!!!!!!!!!! I love the little fuzzy mixes. I think they are adorable. I would almost kill to have a Parti or even a brewier, (not a mix, by the way) I just think they are the most gorgeous dogs ever. BUT, being a breeder, as long as I have my yorkies, I will not bring one into my home, UNLESS, I keep it out in the house with me and away from where the yorkies are gated in the living Now, why hadn't I thought of that before when I have been drooling over all these beautiful dogs. As far as the rest of this thread, I am staying out of it.

| I think all dogs are cute, and i do mean ALL Here is the problem as i see it, my friend was scammed big time by a so called breeder) she wanted a yorkie/maltese, well thats what she thought she had bought, ( $$ ) paid big money, no papers, had health issues off the get go, vet said he is mixed with at least 3 different breeds was suppose to be 5pds and is 17, not that it matters because she loves her baby like the rest of us do I guess my thing is the money they charge and the uneducated people that fall for there disception Jmho

Yes, every dog was mixed with something to get purebreds, there is only one dog that wasn't, and that is the maltese

Very good points everyone, I have a very good champion pedigree male that was suppose to be 5 pounds and under well my nice little tea cup ended up to be 16 pounds go figure, needless to say he was neuterd and is a family pet to us,so money down the drain on that one and had to get another male. You never know sometimes what is going to come out of the gene pool. Look at all the LP and other problems yorkies have that have good pedigrees and they come from good breeders hmmm... .So what does that say?? I like the mixes but I do think they have to be compatable to be mixed and have good stock to breed with.

One more thing I want to add..people say "reputable breeder", well, there are a lot of yorkie breeders, that are supposedly not out for the money..Okay, now, when the bitch is too old to breed anymore, how many of these reputable breeders find their dogs forever homes with other families?? The answer is A LOT OF THEM. I can say, when my sister retired her bitch(and she was still young), she had her spayed, and she still lives with my sister(along with 7 other inside dogs, also all spayed/neutered)..She didn't just use her to make a little money, then find her a new home..I think it's terrible when breeders breed their dogs, then rehome them when they're too old to produce anymore..imo
