| I don't plan to have any children. I have never wanted children so that will not be an issue. There are SEVERAL reasons I don't want children, but one of them is for that reason. It would kill me to have a child that was allergic to animals because I could not live without animals - I'd MUCH rather have my animals than have a child so therefor I won't be having any children.

I guess I feel when it comes right down to it on rehoming, if it is going to happen it is going to happen and the only thing I can do is help someone out, not make them feel bad about choices they've made or situations out of their control. I truly believe if placed in a loving home where all their needs will be met, the dog will live out a happy, healthy life. They aren't going to sit there and mope for us until the day they die. I do believe in a strong bond between our dogs and us, but at the end of the day I'm sure they could he happy with others as well.

.........if it wasn't for a wonderful person going through an unexpected rough time and realizing she could keep the family pet but had to place the newly adopted baby because she did not have the time necessary to give her a full enjoyable life I would not have my angel Millee who has changed my life forever...........and now another woman who also chose to keep the family pet but because she has to travel across the continent on a regular basis to visit her children and dreaded boarding her little peanut Bella who needs constant attention and affection.............both could have been selfish and kept them but chose to do the right thing for the babies.......these two women are my angels and I am in complete gratitude to them forever........tell your friend she is in my prayers.........

People who LOVE their pets never want to rehome them, it is a last resort to an impossible situation. Some people are lucky enough never to have been in a situation where they have to tear half of their heart out in order to survive and believe they will not have to face such awful things in their lifetime and some never will. But to think that you are immune to disaster is a dangerous place to be because you will in no way be prepared when your life falls apart. My personal story is way too long and almost prevented me from ever having a pet again because of the uncertainty of life. I came to realize that I have to take chances or I'll miss out on too many things so I got another dog in time. There is no way we can know what the future will bring or what we will have to do in order to survive.

It seems like there are others who are coming across as mean and getting personal on this thread as well, how come no one said anything to them?
